Hello &mdash 06/05/08 - 11:27:27 AM
Thanks Roxanne for listening and taking the time to leave such a nice comment. The tuning was CFCFCF which I've been experimenting with a lot recently.
Best wishes

wow - this is some gorgeous guitar playing. Love how easily you pull off those harmonics. Very beautiful, a real achievement - congrats!

Thanks &mdash 06/05/08 - 11:34:51 AM
Thanks so much for listening Karen. It took a few runs to get the harmonics to ring true. There are a few that are still a bit muffled but I think that's as good as I can do without splicing overdubbed bits in and I like a single take recorded all in one go even if it means a few bum notes get left in. However, once I get the hang of seamlessly inserting new bits to correct mistakes this philosophy might change!

I think you and Yeman are the best qualified Macjammers to comment on whether this is getting towards an Eastern sound so your supportive comment is very much appreciated.

Hello &mdash 06/11/08 - 09:47:31 AM
Hi , thanks for taking the time to listen. You are right in that I was recording while doodling around with this and just happened to get a half decent take. In that sense it was a live and more or less improvised couple of minutes hence the background sniffing and the quick fade out to hide were it started to go very wrong! I tried to record it properly later without the sniffing but this first attempt always sounded the best.
Cheers

You're right. I hear something Moorish in there. Would go down well in The Alhambra de Granada. Lovely.

I love the live sound. feels like you're in the room. very good guitar playing too. Good to know you left the sniffles in there. try eq-ing the sniffles more in the mix and give them a little more reverb and echo. they rule. jk :D
