Nick_Flash
A couple more cups of coffee and you're back to the heavy stuff huh? Sounds great. I would love to be able to do more of this type of work. I'm still stuck in the Alt rock genre. Must - break - free.
Great song though, the best thing about blues is that it's just what comes out.
Bravo.
rsorensen
hah yeah. seriously man, I'm getting headaches and everything. I had no idea I was so dependent on the stuff. this whole coffee house challenge isn't helping either! a constant reminder of what I'm missing! Oh well. Thanks for checking this out, Nick. Always look forward to your posts no matter what genre you choose.
..ur??? WHAT???... Man, this is completely blew me away. Great playing, great production and a very neat work as usual from you my friend.... THIS IS EXCELLENT!
Take Care

rsorensen
thanks again for checking out my stuff, yeman. this one was much fun.
magnatone
Oh YEAH Ridd! You are unPLUGGED and HOT! This is really great - you're kidding about only spending on hour on it, right? Clearly, you could make a habit of hanging around in this genre my friend! Wonderful sound, well done!
rsorensen
yah I only had an hour alone with the mic so I had to rush it. but i think perhaps the hastiness lent itself to the authenticity of it? thanks for checking it out karen. Definitely more blues to come!
lavalamp
Great effort. Really dig this soulful sound. Actually a great production, it sounds live.
Little know secret: I love the blues!
Great going Ridd,
LL
rsorensen
thanks dave. glad you like it, and the blues too!
soon I'll be drinking orange juice, the traditional style is a killer I just dig this so much, brings back memories of my coffee house days in Boston....
rsorensen
hah tell me about it! when I did the coffee house thing this kinda stuff is all we ever played. good times indeed. thanks for listening.
guygrooves
Really well done for only an hour. It really has a cool vibe to it. What is this thing you speak of?? decaffeinated?? What is that???
rsorensen
thanks guy. decaffeinated = depression
ronnielong
Freaking sweet man...
A lot of this reminded me of Claptons "Walkin' Blues"- more specifically the solo riffs and slide bits...
Damn good for only an hour my friend...
Tip. Don't drink coffee, drink beer and Whiskey- of course its less "work place friendly" hahahahaha
Cheers
rsorensen
thanks ronnie. yeah that slide solo clapton did in 'Walkin' Blues' has been around since the 30s. Robert Johnson did it first and since then most dobro players have played a variation of it one time or another.
ronnielong
Indeed....
Walkin' Blues was just the first tune that came to mind...
Wicked man...
I learned how to play by pickin' the blues... and I can tell its one of yer favs too...
Again, good job...
Now I'm REALLY interested to see how our METAL collab comes out! Haha..
rsorensen
hah yeah. just waiting for something to happen that makes me REALLY ANGRY so I can nail the attitude... should be soon ;)
FlatRock2
great blues. love the resonator and the harp.
pour me a cup o them blues!
rsorensen
thanks flatrock. i shopped around a long time for a (affordable) reso that sounded good and found the epi to be the best for the buck. of course I wanted a National Delphi. but I ain't made of money unfortunately!
DWL
I'd still be tuning up
Fine playing sir.
Cheers
Dick
rsorensen
thanks dick. i dont waste time tuning when I gots the blues!
Great job Ridd! Really authentic sound you've achieved here man.
I'm cutting back on the caffeine myself these days. This tune is helping me as I go through the withdrawals!
Be well!
rsorensen
haha glad I could help. Thanks for listening Micheal.
splinter
like my decaf latte - saves me from the jitters and the heebie jeebies too - spares my wife and children the wrath of Buzzin' Bud. Very nice.
rsorensen
tried decaf and it's like playing a guitar with no strings! no thanks ;)
Peter Bauckham
I can't say that I'm a big blues fan but I thought this sounding great - can't believe you put this together so quickly! I too have been trying to cut down on the caffeine - but it's hard...
Peter
rsorensen
thanks for listening even though you're not a fan. I appreciate it!
drakonis
This is cool, clean refreshing Slooooow blues... gawd this is so slow and good it aches to the bone! Anything you CAN'T do? Great guitar & harmonica work, excellent mixing except for two things... you forgot to un-mute those two GB tracks at the bottom before you bounced it... no, not those, scroll down... there, the ones marked "porch squeak" and "dog yowl"... yah, you forgot those!
Sorry about the withdrawal symptoms, I found that the only way to get over coffee withdrawals is to drink some coffee, can't help you man.
ttfn,
Drakonis
rsorensen
hah no dogs on this one. thanks for checking it out. and you're right about the withdrawal symptom - I tried it and it works!
dajama
Love the sound of the harp, and the guitars sounds very cool. Can't believe you put this together that quickly! Lovely blues. Nicely done. Peace.
rsorensen
thanks dajama. i've had that harp for like 15 years. it's so broken in and loose now that it's not hard to get a good sound outta it.
lengold
Therefore I love this - very authentic sounding and full of talent.
Cheers
Len
rsorensen
thanks len. i think we have a lot of closet blues lovers here.
Vic Holman

Komrade K
... this sure is sweet. Like this a lot and as I had my fiddle out I had a jam a long - it sites nicely on fiddle btw. When I have a bit more time I would be tempted to record some fiddle on it - would you be up for that?
KK
rsorensen
Yeah for sure. Please do!
Alannah
.. I know them well ... had to have some tests done recently which required me to go without caffeine for 24 hours for two days .... thought I was gonna lose my mind ...... I agree with drak .. I think I woulda liked to hear a little dawg howl in here somewhere .. and oh yeah .. I would love to hear you SING on this ...... it would be tres kewl !
richardhowardjones
Down home-just the way I like my coffee (with a dash of moonshine).
stratcat
Love the harp and the resonator. Excellent harp licks. You sure can play that harp. Great.
VicDiesel
The audience has left, and the musicians are playing only for themselves. It's past closing time, so the only drinks to be had are what they carry in their paper bags. The fire in their music is no longer burning bright, just glowing gently. But I still need to get this one solo out! Gimme a couple of chorusses here, and then maybe a song after this. Just one.
Bob Rodgers
love the blues and of course I love this too!
Just perfect and very well played!
Thanks!

Can anyone ask for more?

I feel so much like a wannabe after reading that. Great blues number; goes great with the morning caffeine I gave up last year, but took back. I like the art, too. Those women of the 50's were always smiling as they served coffee and scrubbed the house. But I digress.. this was cool. :-)
You truly have this style down to a T....
Bone.... that is, nice licks, nasty slide...
I.........LIKE IT..........
I just returned to MJ's today with a new appreciation for the "blues" and I'm not disappointed at my first listen back here. It has the feeling of the "delta" on this one for sure.
Impressive playing and control. I like the tones on the guitars. Authentic!
Thanks for the D/L!
