Description:
Written about dealing with the frustration of suffering a torturous headache condition known as cluster headaches. It was record in th early morning hours on a 4 track after getting drunk the night before, getting laid then 1 hour of sleep, and recorded the song and was ready to mix in just 3 1/2 hours.
Lyrics:
I've been jaded, feelings discriminate
I've been hated, for no meanings sake.
I've had this fist, in my throat, ready to punch you out
But I cannot scream any louder, that you would hear
TORMENT LIES WITHIN MY DOMAIN (Torment)
I'M NOT SICK NO I'M NOT SANE, THE ONLY THING THAT I CAN FEEL IS PAIN!
I've been bested, beaten down once more
I've been tested, and yes I'm keeping score
I've been abused and I've been used up
I've been felt up by the devil
(Cannot crawl...any further... not that you'd care
TORMENT LIES WITHIN MY DOMAIN (Torment)
I'M NOT SICK NO I'M NOT SANE, THE ONLY THING I CAN FEEL IS PAIN
Torment. Torment. Torment. Torment.
Hardware:
Not much. Just a few effects and guitars.
Software:
Recorded on a Tascam 4 track Digital recorder

I Checked your web site out heavy metal is not my scene really
The music is very well produced though, and you do have a great voice.
But, how can you play music like this with the kind cluster headaches
that I read were so bad and painful that you also suffer from too ?
And I saw the video of your freind- Writhing in complete agony.
cos he was suffering the same type of Unforunate Hell too with Bad headaches. This did not look nice at all really.
Is this then perhaps ?
Why you do music like this. Cos the Headache Pain Drives you mad, If soo -God! I am soo sorry it must feel horrendous for you all too.
. You have my deepest sympathy.
Peace Dee. [ Reply to This ]
Yowtch, cluster headaches suck &mdash 06/10/08 - 05:03:54 PM
This is great, man. Tight, hard rock this good is hard to find on MacJams. I agree with Feter that you might want to call it Metal or something... 'Experimental' is what a lot of us call our weird, barely-music, noise experiments, haha. Excellent work, Mack. [ Reply to This ]

I like Prog Rock. You've made a nicely flowing 7/4 song. Kudos.
The whole arrangement is great. Everything is well recorded, and the song itself is imaginative. Subtle even, in all its ferocity.

contrast &mdash 06/11/08 - 03:11:37 PM
I'd put this under Metal so the right folks can find your tune! (Easy to change: just click Edit on you song and change the genre)
The contrast is brutal and effective. Wow. Especially like where the phasing starts about 45 prior to the end, and the explosive conclusion.

Very nice, I like the changes here and cool drums and bass line. Welcome to MJ, hope you'll enjoy your time being here... Try to change the Genre for the song as Feter said if that's possible...
Take Care

and the contrasting explosive guitar vox sections are cool. Glad I stopped by. [ Reply to This ]

I dig how the song mirrors it's subject matter. I also have this damned affliction and your song is structured around one of those cycles. Mellow, peaceful normalcy peppered with episodes of searing pain that borders on violence.
First song I've ever heard on the subject and one that does a pretty good job of interpreting it.
As an aside, do you smoke? It primarily affects males who drink and smoke. There is one kind of smoke though that usually breaks the cycle...

Wow - I just read this &mdash 07/22/08 - 02:04:04 AM
I haven't been on MacJams long, and stayed so busy I haven't been here in a long time.
I just now read all of these comments and what can i say other than thanks.
Yes Dee, with this affliction, I am lucky I have a vehicle like music to release my frustration of the clusters. Otherwise, I may have checked out long ago without the release of music. It is a medicine.
Pete_NB - Sorry you suffer the bastard affliction, so you know the exquisite type of pain it is - nothing like it. When a woman says she'd rather give birth 7 times a day than get CH, you know it's baaaad.
Ever tried o2 therapy, or 'shroom therapy to break cycles?
Peace y'all... more stuff to come, and will be checking in more often.

Hey &mdash 08/03/08 - 09:07:37 PM
this is good.
Evil bass line and excellent vocals.
What is that effect before the "scream" chorus?
Loved it! [ Reply to This ]
Effect? &mdash 08/04/08 - 08:48:15 PM
You mean on the guitar? I had a light chorus going, with heavy reverb and slight delay that just made it sound like an overdub. Tried to make it sound as 'haunting' as possible, as Cluster Headache sufferers are always haunted by what is known as 'the beast' until he finally strikes at full force, and the only way to explain the feeling is: It feels like someone has heated up a meathook red hot, rammed it through my right eye with it coming out of my temple, and someone is trying to lift me off of the ground with it. Women say they would rather give birth 7 times a day, if that tells you anything. This can happen once every couple of days, or from 2-10 times in a 24 hour period.
Makes it hard to have a life, unless you fight back and are determined to make the most of life in between the Cluster Headache attacks. [ Reply to This ]

tight &mdash 09/07/08 - 01:03:54 AM
Really tight bassline. Great tone. Love the "sculpture-like" glass synth, very eerie. The explosion of the chorus was amazing-- great volume mix choices. So many times there is too much compression and the dynamics get shut down so much that there seems to little volume differentiation from one section to another on this type of song, ala NIN. But not here. Ace. Dug it totally.
