Choir (27)action (13)orchestra (54)synths (31)tension (11)movie sequence (1)bigger work (1)classical (371)Boris (7)
Description:
I have filled everything in once already and then the site had one of its 'moments' and refreshed the upload page back to a blank page!!!!! Fed up I am!!!!

Needless to say this is background music to an action film sequence and the music/choir move as the action moves.

Please let me know if this works or not.

The piece is a section of a bigger work.

Hardware:
2 x Sony Vaio's, 1 Intel Mac Mini, 1 Asus Eeepc

Software:
EnergyXT2, Reaper 2, Rosegarden, Audacity, Usine, Goldwave, soft synths, soft effects

It all fits together perfect. You have done an excellent job
brilliant music. Great Productiion. it had me sitting on he edge of my chair alright. This is full of tension. Very dark and forboding. Love the sort of choir voices too. Thanks for sharing.

Peace Dee.

Thanks Dee...... &mdash 06/06/08 - 12:54:23 PM
It's very kind of you to enthuse in this way about my Boris and his background.

One day there will be more to this piece. I've completed a pizzicato section and that may be up over the weekend. Which weekend is another matter........

Take care.

Paul

Great sound... &mdash 06/04/08 - 08:22:20 PM
A bit like one of Glass' Qatsi pieces in tone and grandeur. I enjoyed it a lot!

Hi Daniel...... &mdash 06/06/08 - 12:57:35 PM
You mention Glass again. I'll have to listen to more of his music. I'm sure that I'll enjoy it if my music sounds even slightly similar.

Thanks for your positive vibes. A pizzicato section will appear before the millenium!!

Take care.

Hi Davis..... &mdash 06/06/08 - 01:02:09 PM
If I can remember all that I originally typed I'll pop it in a note to you. I just was so annoyed that the site is so underpowered (it doesn't matter in what way) and that it can remove all my typing!!

Thanks for your thoughts on this fragment. I will be adding other sections to this sometime in the next few days or weeks or months.

Take care.

Paul

great piece &mdash 06/06/08 - 03:48:36 AM
i admire your tenacity (with the site glitches as well as your use of all that software). this is perfect for a film. can't wait to see it on the big screen. loving that string sound you used (very eno-esque in tone).

Hi Michael..... &mdash 06/06/08 - 01:05:10 PM
The strings are either Edirol or Miroslav strings. I don't think that they were Atmosphere's strings. You've got me thinking now what I used!!

There'll be more of this type of piece uploaded over the next while!! I've a pizzicato section finished so that may be next.

Take care.

Scared... &mdash 06/06/08 - 01:05:18 PM
...the hell out of ME! You have a knack for tension, Paul, and are able to sustain it for a good period of time. One suggestion: seems like this is very "up front." I wonder if a tad more reverb or some sort of room ambience wouldn't give it a bit more breadth.
Peace.

Hi Paul.... &mdash 06/06/08 - 01:08:42 PM
I will listen again to this section and try your suggestion. I hadn't thought about this effect whilst I was mixing it down. I tend to concentrate on clarity and sometimes 'space'. It's a good idea that is worth exploring.

The second section will be up soon. A plucked string section if current mixes are used.

Take care.

Paul
