Lyrics
Oh to we happy few, gathered in Amsterdam
Hoping that crime would pay, all of us scattered
Two went to the church, one into the ground
We're looking for something undone
We're trying to get in before the sun

Oh to we troubled few, over and over
wizened and alone, all of us founder
two went off to war, one into my room
We're looking for love all around
We're trying to get in before the sun

Oh to the drawing hand, older and older
Finding out what we can, all of us wander
Two went on the road, one into a grave

soothing
mellow, very nice listen. vocal harmonies are really good. I like it as it is, maybe a flute or some other mellow instrument would be nice. could you post the lyrics?

Vocals!
Really love the vocals on this. For some reason, I think the sound of the guitar needs to be changed or modified. Too dominate?
The singing should be the focal point. Elliott Smith-like.

Great song, man.

Guitar
Consider adding some soft delay or reverb to the guitar to soften it a little and help it blend with the high quality vocals.

would like to see the lyrics. I like it as is. The guitar is crisp and so clean. Vocals are smoth with very nice harmonies. Good production and I think a very nice job.
Thanks, Russ

Great song
It really has a nice flow. The guitars need to be tighter and are a bit on top and the keys are really buried in the mix, I didn't hear them until the bridge (might be my speakers though) A nice little Piano run through the bridge might be what your looking for. It would help mellow the guitars a little as well as if you brought the keys up a little throughout and maybe rolled a little treble off the guitars. Still might be my speakers though. I really liked this song. Great writing and singing.

A really nice
mellow song - I think it would sound better if the guitar was miked as it sounds very electro-acoustic which perhaps is a bit 'clanky' - I think a more delicate sound might suit your voice better. I don't know if it needs any additional instruments - I like what's there - just a remix (bring the piano up a bit).

Thanks for sharing

Thanks
I just don't have much luck with micing the guitar. Not sure if it's the room or the mic, because it's a great sounding guitar - a Martin, one of the big dreadnaughts. But I agree; I'm not satisfied with the guitar sound. I'm gonna try a few things, see if I can't improve it.

like the picking. i like the vocals. they might be better a little more center, but i don't know i like them panned as they are. it especially works when there instrumental gets heavier. but to start it makes me center of the song seem to be lacking. it's like you have two people one singing in each ear. i'm not sure which sounds best. song wise though with out that little wondering how it'd sound more centered. this is great. i like when your voice gets higher for "oh to the drawing hand" or i think that's what you said. the guitar is just great takes you away with it.

Thanks
for the kind words. I have a new recording of this now - should be ready soon - and there's now what I would say is a vast improvement in the guitar sound. Going direct was the easy choice for the working version, but now I've got a mic version and the guitars sound much richer.

Perhaps at some point I will post the original version of this song - it's fully electric and much funkier. It's not awful, but the song eventually led me to this much mellower place.

This is a captivating piece.
Your lyrics are intriguing, as I am not quite sure about the story you are telling. What a nice vocal delivery. This really was a good listen. I thank you. :)
