Description
Mitchell posted a really great A Cappella. I'm embarrassed to say that my original additions were out of sync. really off :-). Fortunately Mitchell is as generous in his collabing as he is with the word. He was able to sync me up and re-did some parts to gel with the music bed. Many thanks to you Mitchell.

intoxicating
That sexy bass line is haunting and will stay with me a while just like Nick say. The subtle floating chords adds a fantasy like mood. The placing of those low piano notes is just enough to balance the groove.
Sorry... I just have to pull it apart to understand what makes it so good:)

Couldn't quite grab the content to all of the rap (it's hard enough to get hold of the content of rappers doing it in my own language;), but it is cool how it follows the rhythm of the groove. It is the 'rock' n roll' that together with the smooth groove makes the complete hip hop thang. There I go again.. . bottom line %u2026 I dig it:)

I'm invited?
Nice work, John. Spitlogic's rapping is really good. I think I missed the off-sync one--this mix is deep in the pocket; good beats and ethereal pads.

bring some for those that don't have some :-) David, all the props for being in the pocket are with Spitlogic. My big take away was recording at the same bpm does not equal = a groove. Mitchell brought it home

this sounds great. love the bass synth (what did you use on that?). the piano chords at the beginning are so low and perfect. glad you got it worked out. great job.

Wonderful
This is perfect. You've taken the brilliance of spitlogic's rap and wrapped it in something magical. The drums sound great and the bass is kicking. Love the sound and the riff. Those chords! Great musical vision, and teriffic collab. Did I mention the mix is top notch and the production is absolutely pro? Kudos, my friend. Nicely done. Peace.

I do get tired...
...of negative rap, and trite rap, and formulaic rap, and to these jaded ears that's a lot of what's out there...

This is different, and better... Simple, but deep... That bass line against the drum beat is terrific, and the rap, (what I can follow) is wide open and positive...

So even though rap/hip-hop isn't my listening preference, I appreciate what has been accomplished here. Pretty neat.

message
Ed, again you hit on something that speaks to me directly. In this case, Mitchell's prose. To me a message of perseverance and positivity. Only on Mj could one hope to find this incredible opportunity to collab cross genre's.

thanks Bud, I originally tried to interject some alternate bass lines, but nothing seemed as groovy as the first one I tried. So I just went with it!

Wow!
I thought I knew you as the MJ's Keyboard Solo Guy%u2122, but this just proofs that you are just an excellent overall musician (I'm probably the only one here who's surprised). The track is crisp, simple and strong and has a very comfortable flow to it. I like how you give it some breathing room towards the end. Very cool drum loop too. How about a nifty little hook somewhere in there?

a hook
yes, Pari, I think "something" is absolutely called for in here. In a re-do I would shoot for perhaps a real rythym section with some guitar to help break it up. Thankful to have you stop, listen and comment. I always enjoys hearing your thoughtful words. You latest is simply stunning.
