Description:
My life is a mess right now. My marriage is breaking up, meaning I’ll only be able to see my daughter, 5 years old, half the time. I’ve also found out that I’ve got a pretty serious illness, so I’ve got to think about her losing me as well. The first verse is a message to myself, the second verse is a message to her. Mainly, the song’s a celebration of my daughter.
Lyrics:
I don’t need a song about herShe exists in more than name
But the song might be permanent
And I don’t want her to go away, away
When you hear this song remember
All that I wanted to say
Like your soul – it is infinite
And that I won’t ever go away
I will never go away, today

It feels empty to say I'm sorry that you're going through this, like it's not enough. Your pain over your situation and your love for your daughter is palpable in every note of this song and that makes it an incredibly powerful listening experience. Thank you for being so open and putting yourself into this music. It's a tremendous gift to everyone who hears it.
I'll be thinking of you.

why such bad things happen to good people. I don't have any answers yet. I'm told it lies in faith. Don't worry I'm not trying to push any religion on you as I have none myself. Only speculation. Just have faith.
It's a beautiful song that carries the emotion well. May the force be with you friend.

thank you man for sharing this incredibly deep song! i'm sorry for your bad luck as of late, and i can only hope and wish that you and your daughter stay close! i have a soon to be 4 year old daughter myself...and she is the world to me. i can't imagine going through what you are, and i hope that i don't....but i will say this, if you need anyone to talk to i'm here. no one needs to go through that alone...message me if you EVER need to, seriously!
sincerely,

Thanks for all the wishes. The circumstances are pretty depressing, but I actually had a lot of fun putting this together. Actually, I take that back. I cried when I wrote the lyrics for the second verse. Never made myself cry writing a song before. But pretty cathartic overall.

to go through a divorce with a 5-year-old... I know, those were my same circumstances many years ago. But the illness hanging over you makes it even harder.
Focus, as you have in this song, on your daughter. That love can help you through whatever challenges lie ahead. My sincerest best wishes and prayers go with you, Henry.

It’s an electronic drumset but real in the sense that I’m playing it. Part of what made recording this a good experience is I finally figured out how to get drums down. Maybe because of the topic I opened up. Didn’t worry about flaws so much and let go.

Thanks again, everyone for the new comments. I wasn%u2019t expecting this type of reaction, believe it or not. It%u2019s become such an ingrained part of my life that I%u2019ve adapted to it. Music, though, expresses what I%u2019m going through in a way that I can%u2019t and don%u2019t in my everyday life. But thanks, a reminder of the caring out there.

There are not words enough to express the courage you show. This song is a testament to that. Stay strong in your heart and soul and all else should fall in to the right place.

music is one thing that holds my sanity is this temporary world. I believe, its also true for you right now. Keep on going, later on after you gone through the trying times, you might be amazed of the songs you had written. Why not try some gospel songs? thanks for sharing.
