Reflections on a Dream

Description
The rhythm guitar track is almost the first thing I ever recorded on an old minidisc potrastudio several years ago (Tascam 564). Never really found a good home for it.

The original recording had an classical acoustic guitar solo - but I was never very happy with the sound; and so it lingered in the archives.

When I first got hold of GB I was been *very* impressed with the Classical Guitar sound, so imported the original track into the package and gave it a try, ditching the old solo in favour of a new (well 2 new) synthetic guitar parts.

Was very happy with the results.

Hope you like it............this one never fails to cheer me up on a cold morning :-)

A lovely tune. Very sweet sounds. Perfect for a cold morning - made me close my eyes and smile. Too short! I think this is very nice the way it is - but if you felt like adding a little soft percussion and maybe a piano or gentle string accompaniment it would be great. I would love to play around with this and see where it could go. Great piece - thanks!

Thanks for the kind comment....
Hi - thnaks for listening to the track and I'm really glad you liked it.

I'm completely terrible at imagining what things would look or sound like altered, once they are finished.

But if you'd like to mess about with the tune and add some stuff, let me know and I'll You Send It the individual tracks!

ps Didn't have time to listen to much of your own material, but I loved the only track I did listen to. A beautiful thing to come out of such a sad event...........

Its classical roots made me consider posting up a remix I did of one of my neice's composition studies (originally for 3 pianos). So maybe I will :-)

Anyhow - I'll def check out some of the other tunes on your own page.

Hi - and thanks for the comment, very glad you liked it.

What I found amazing was that the Acoustic Guitar parts are completely synthisised and played via a keyboard.

Which is odd considering I'm a guitarist. :-)

Respect to however programmed that sound on GB.

The Rhythm part is 100% me, on my lovely K.Yari 'though.

Cheers - JC

Hi - I really liked this, it has a very laid back feel. Like Kassia I thought it maybe should have a little bit longer, and also thought putting some subtle percussion in would add to it well

I've also played around with the synth guitar sounds, so it's interesting to see someone else doing the same.

Thanks for the kind comment - maybe I should revisit and see if I can tweak it a bit.

And agree about the guitar sound - really quite remarkable!

This...
...is really sweet and was a welcome sound to my tired ears...I love the acoustic guitar.

...love your rhythm work (what's the guitar?) and am very, very impressed with the "Classical Guitar" sound from GB. Had me fooled 'till I read the liner notes...

Thanks.....
I blush with praise from someone who clearly can actually play :-)

Even after 25 years of playing I still don't think of myself as a 'proper' guitarist. Still - I can busk it occasionally - and even produced a half-way decent sounding solo for the first time recently :-)

I should post that one sometime!

The guitar is a K.Yairi - an obscure Japanese maker. Really built for amplification only, but it's a hell of a looker......and makes a sweet and clear sound.
