Description:
a Flaming Lips inspired indie rocker about about a guy who needs to finish singing one last song before he dies...
Chords:
D,A,D,A,D,A,D,A,D,A,D,A repeat
(Phew! don't try this at home)
Lyrics:
One Last Chorus (You Can Have it All)
Someone grab me by the feet
And pull me down to Earth
Cuz I've got one thing left to do here
I'm not ready to go... oh, no
Heaven's gonna have to wait for me
a little longer can't they see?
I'm not ready to leave... just yet
I have got this one last song to sing
Then they can give me angel's wings
And I will fly to them.. and then
You can have it all
I'm coming to the last chorus
And after that it's time to go
But I will leave you everything
Everything I've got
and as I take my final bow
I can feel them hovering around me
They are waiting for the last words
that I have to sing.... and here they are:
You can have it all
I'm leaving but don't you worry
Everything will be okay
I'm leaving but my soul lives on
I've left it for you in this here song
You can have it all

rely on you for something different and unexpected. Great idea for a song and lyrics. Love the vocal effects and instrumentation you have used.

Ya know, I'm glad you think so because I REALLY like this one too. I know it's not going to get a lot of attention because it might be a little too harsh for folks, but I'm glad someone here likes it as much as me :) I remember the first time I heard The Flaming Lips song 'Pilot Can At The Queer Of God', from which this song was partially inspired by, I was like 'yikes!' and forwarded to the next song. Then after a few listens I was in love. Maybe this'll have the same effect? Maybe not haha. [ Reply to This ]
Cool song &mdash 06/13/08 - 06:02:54 PM
Hey, Tomorrow Never Knows is one chord and it's mind blowing. Chord counting is for tools. This is jarring and fantastic. Love it. Are you doing the high harmony? If so, you've a great, razor sharp falsetto. Officially jealous. [ Reply to This ]

Thanks Eric. Yeah I tried to throw another chord in there but it felt contrived. This is all me, including the falsetto. Glad you like it. [ Reply to This ]

D,A,D,A,D chords. Kidding!
Boy, you sure nailed the Flaming Lips style and sound to a Tee.
I can see the costumed animals dancing in a rain of confetti.
You did wear the the white vested suite when recording this, right? [ Reply to This ]

Thanks Vic. I tried to subdue the Lips style but ended up doing a full blown homage haha. I love that band so much I couldn't help myself. And yes, it got a little crowded in my little studio with that huge white rabbit dancing around [ Reply to This ]
