Originally 5_Extra_Arms (Bob Dorsey) posted a version of this a while back.
Bud and I decided it would be fun to further develop it and see what came about.
With Bob's help, he taught us how to grow 5 extra arms each. That makes 21 arms total and 210 fingers, enabling for us to play everything live. (sorta)
So, beamed via satellite from a abandoned missile silo.......
5_Extra_Arms: lead vocals, fuzzy guitar, bass
Bud: fuzzy guitar, bass, synth bass
Vic: bunches of other guitars, vocoder, drums & back up vocals.

Lyrics:
I'm wondering which cloud you fell fromand how'd you land on me?
I hope you didn't hurt your wing
I'll take you home
I'll comfort thee
twisting falling to the floor
somehow pushed out from heaven's door
to the earth
a quick descent
with one wing broken
one wing bent
If I mend your broken wings
enable you to fly again
would you fly to heaven's door
with scattered feathers
on my floor
should I build a blue bird cage
with painted clouds upon the door
a place where you can lay your head
of comfy nest
with so much more

One of Bob's best tunes dressed to the nines!
Ahhhh....My head is simply awash with guitars!
Excellent job gentlemen! Oh, and btw Vic...This is your best DRUM track ever I think.
Bravo!
Vic Holman
How could I not put my hands all over Bob's original tune. I can't even remember how many guitar tracks are on this, but it is alot,
I thought I'ld let out my Keith Moon side come out on the drums without the exploding bass drum.
Exploding MIDI bass drums are more trouble than they're worth! Ha ha...
davisamerica
loved the original and this one is a screamer ... well done guys!
Vic Holman
I'm glad that Bud & Bob were ready to jump in on this. It's wild how a song can change through several different hands. It was a blast!

I bet that silo turns out to be the undisclosed bunker they kept hiding Dick Cheney. Or is it the one where they keep the UFO parts?
Where ever it is, it's certainly rockin' with you guys playing away inside. What a great collab. One of you alone is enough talent to choke a horse. There's no telling what all animals you could choke with the combined talent of all three of you. Though, that does seem to be quite a cruel thing to do, choking defenseless animals with your talent. Shame on you all!
So, where was I....? Oh yeah, great song guys! Thanks for playing along!
Vic Holman
well for D.C., that might explain the clicking of claws scurrying around in the dark corners. One big rat, we thought.
The only thing that got choked were all the guitar necks. Yes, we were brutal and showed no mercy until the strings rusted. That will show them
Relic67
good one!
Like the singing and playing.
Your tripartite logo would make an excellent album cover...
Vic Holman
I hear vinyl albums are making there way back.
Really dug you entry for the live aid show, great piece!
lavalamp
Bob just plainly rockin' out under stress with fuzzy glowing guitars roaring nearby as the bass maintains a sort soulful, intense balance in a sensational, cool way.
In other words: Great!

I liked Bob's original so much that it kept running through my head until I had to get it out of my system.
Bud, jumped right in and helped out alot. Crazy how a song can change, right?

Bob's original song really rocked. After laying some stuff down it was interesting to see it take on a different style and come into it's own.
Cool sounds going on, really fine work here and as always a treat listening to your guitars.. Nice!

I think there is around ten guitar tracks on this. I know it sounds crazy to do that many. But some are playing harmony parts in unison.
Thanks again Yeman!
lengold
Bobs' original version and this just takes it to another level. Great musicianship, arrangement and production by you all.
Cheers

Bob's original is really cool!
I've been wanting to do something with Bob for a while, but the guy is pretty busy. And it was over due to work with Bud again. This was a great way for use to get our feet wet and leave water tracks all over the place.
Skean
This is pro collab... Nice done guys... Love it.
Cheers

Bob had a cool song to build from and Bud did some great tracks, It was my biggest pleasure to work with these guys
Peter Bauckham
re-working of Bob's tune - which I love anyway - the vocals on this remind me of the late Nikki Sudden (in a good way). Some seriously good guitar work going on - and vocoder vocal too!
Peter
Vic Holman
The original is cool. At first I wasn't sure what I was going to do. I wanted to keep the bones of the original intact. It's always interesting how a song can change after additional stuff is thrown into the mix.
I've been wanting to try out the vocoder for a while and this song really gave it the opportunity.
dajama
This is great, filled with terrific guitar work, great sounds and sparkling playing. Great song, with very nice lyrical imagery and some really cool lines. 'Bunches of other guitars' - love it! Very cool. Nicely done folks. Peace.
Vic Holman
bunches of guitars is right. Bud & Bob handled the fuzzed out guitar chords. I did nothing but single line guitar tracks. I think I added around ten of those, then there are 3 bass tracks as well, some of Bob's original and Bud added a great bass & synth bass that really grounded the bottom end.
bud
a dog can only do so much to improve on such a killer song. Woof!
Vic Holman
..... you are being WAY to modest.
The bass & synth bass are perfect & in the pocket. and your fuzzed guitar on the left perfectly complimented Bob's on the right. This would not of been the same without you. Plus, you caught that major fuba. It's always my greatest pleasure to play tunes with ya.
five_extra_arms
Really and truly, you made a great song out of a very simple and shallow idea. Thanks for even bothering to include me. You did all the work and without a doubt, you played one of your most curious leads ever.
Thanks again!
Bob
Vic Holman
you are the main drive here and spiritual guru on broken wings and feathers. Would not of happened without your spunky tune!
Wow !! This is a killer track love the very beginning introduction and it just got better and better and just could not get any better. Loved it.
The singing was just great the lyrcs cool too. Well done to one and all.And not forgetting those extra arms and guitars, the drums are awsome .
Peace Dee.
Vic Holman
originally there was a different intro on Bob's original. but I got to thinking that something totally different and unexpected would add a little drama.
I'm playing the drums from the keyboard, luckily the 5 extra arms that Bob taught me to grow helped out a lot.
This screams for an 80's video - oh crap, the vocoder just kicked in WOWWW!!! I absolutely love this; playing in an abandoned missile silo was just a plain Vic Holman stroke of genius as well.
Vic Holman
missile silos have a nice echo to them. but it was to dark for a camera crew.
it took me a while to get around to paying with the vocoder. now I'm going to have to restrain myself from using it all over the place on future tunes.
egobandit
all out and beyond what a total experience..THats it Im breaking my guitar...Downloaded Genius!!!!!
Vic Holman
Now, I should of thought of that. smashing a guitar at the end. After spearing a Marshall stack with it....hmmm, there's no plug-in for that
peacepiano
Maybe not angels, but you guys are all stars! Great sound!
Thanks
Bill
Vic Holman
i don't think anyone of us would call ourselves an angel... well at least myself.
It was a real pleasure for me to work out a tune with Bob & Bud.
MarkHolbrook
See another VH tune even if it was someone else's first!
Vic Holman
this has been a week for collaborations for me. I had the pleasure to do this one with some great guys and worked on another with Lavalamp a few days earlier before posting this one.
The Infinites
Killing Joke.
Effin' brill guys. That vocoder break seals the deal - nicely woven in amongst some top geetar. Vocal mix is great - I can't tell who's doing what in there!
Fine lyrics too - and I don't expect anything less!
Jim
Vic Holman
first off I really liked you tune for the event. cool team work there.
well everyone is all over the place on this one. of course this song just screamed "I need more vocoder"

Vic, I want to make a million by bottling that guitar sound and selling it. It would make a great energy drink, could smooth the frizzies, and probably would be a organic, holistic substitute for Viagra.
Let's work a deal.
Vic Holman
Fizzy Fuzz, Tequila Twang, Grape Guitar, Power Chord Cola, etc.
See, we got the names, now for the marketing.
Thanks Bill, finally catching up on tunes. The "Tapping" is a fantastic piece
Really nice tune guys!
Vic Holman
it was great to bring this about with 5 Extra Arms & Bud, those two always rock my socks.
jiguma
Must have been hard to sort that kit out Vic - I think an exploding midi kick drum would have been a rather nice, subtle addition :)
Cool track - the edgy side of Live Aid!
Neil
Vic Holman
exploding bytes and bit rates scattered all over the stage would been quite the show.
I break the drums out to 3 tracks for more flexability. Plus, it's easier to see where everything is since the fog machine has gone into overdrive and obscured everything.
guitapick
...5 extra arms is too much of an advantage to begin with!
I loved the original...this has some nice new angles...
Vic Holman
If we all could grow five extra arms, that would take multi-tasking to a whole new level. And sales on double neck guitars would sky rocket.
DWL
a cloud worth falling out of.
Tremendous work guys.
Cheers

Vic Holman
ironically I have clouds of feathers scattered across my lawn. the cat has been busy.
It was cool to take a shot at this and approach it from a slightly different angle.
I t was a pleasure to work with Bud & Bob!
ktb
I grew an arm just listening. Seriously, nice blending of talents. Massive energy pulse.
Vic Holman
5 Extra Arms original was intense in a punk kinda way. Its interesting to find how a someone else's song can change from a different perspective.
guygrooves
to catch up on some good music and I am glad I did. The guitars are some of the coolest I've heard to date. This is very cool. I liked the synth voice too. Great tune.
kassia
wow. all that stuff and more stuff really created some kicka$$ stuff.
