Description:
I put together a few synth ambient sounds earlier, to try the new (to me) Albino synth. Here is my first mix, using just 3 instances of the synth with relatively interesting textures.
Imagine whatever colours you will and walking in whatever space you choose, real or imaginary, and you'll get there.
Let me know your thoughts on this. It's not a departure for me, more a stop along the way.
Hardware:
Sony Vaio 2 GHz
Software:
3 Albino synths, energyXT2, Goldwave, Reaper, Upstereo, Voxengo Recorder

The main thing is it's different from anything .
To me this is a value .
I think as for some painters who have one idea
and turn around this idea , make many paintings
with the same idea , you can go further into this one .

Hi Henri.... &mdash 06/17/08 - 01:21:20 PM
You are correct in your comment about this being good for variation. I am already working on other takes and I'm sure another one will be uploaded before too long.
Take care.

...this is really interesting and, yes, a departure (or a least a diversion) from what you usually write. I love the sound of this Albino synth and the wonderful effects you are able to produce from it... But your concept for the piece is what makes it work for me: full of energy and a certain positivity. I like.
Peace.

Hi Paul...... &mdash 06/17/08 - 01:23:45 PM
Your comments are a great encouragement. I too am keen to try other combinations and arrangements with this and other synths from my arsenal.
Take care.

They way this works &mdash 06/15/08 - 12:55:35 PM
rhythmically... I can hear it as a backing track for something in the foreground... perhaps upper register and very ambient. Just a thought! [ Reply to This ]

Yes I agree with you about this being suitable for another, lead track. I'll seem what I can do or you could see what you could do and upload any results that you are happy with.
There's obviously more where this came from and so we'll see what comes out next.
Take care.

Nifty &mdash 06/17/08 - 07:16:56 PM
This sounds like it's repeating something, but not exactly. There must be a system behind it, but I can't quite make it out. Like one of those optical illusions where you're looking at it all sorts of way, hoping for the "Aha!".
So, what's happening here?

Hi Vic..... &mdash 06/18/08 - 09:49:49 AM
The whole mix is based upon an algorithm, where there are two lead voices, a bass voice and five percussion voices. I program changes into how and when each item plays and each items characteristics.
I then use other synths to play each of these parts and I think that where you are hearing variations it may just be alternate or varied instruments playing the same sequence.
Most of my mixes for the last year at least have been put together in this way.
If you want to know exactly what goes on, drop me a note and I'll put something together for you, with more details.
Thanks for listening and observing my techniques.
Take care.

If I made one person smile, in any way, my job is done. To smile, even for a moment, means your cares are forgotten and you can relax and enjoy the moment.
Thanks for listening and enjoying my piece.
Take care.

HI LL..... &mdash 06/24/08 - 02:27:11 AM
Yes. This is a quirky piece. Somewhat finished but yet with other possibilities. I really love doing stuff like this. Anything is possible within the bounds of this type of mix.
I'm happy that you stopped by to listen.
Take care.

rolling sequence &mdash 06/24/08 - 04:00:45 PM
it is an intriguing chameleon. there is a pattern. but it is slippery. as you recognize a pattern, it changes in your ears to another pattern. is it possible to alter the synthesizer voice slowly, as it progresses? it would add variety. the music is static. a morph of voice would add character. the pattern captivates the mind. thank you for the experiment. it is nice to learn of your music. thank you for sharing it, and visiting my experiments. 0x0 [ Reply to This ]
