Description:
This is a suite of pieces for processed piano recordings. Each time the computer plays the Logic Express file, the "performance" is unique because the program uses bounded random-number generators to process the piano recordings. Hope you enjoy.

Very interesting... &mdash 06/19/08 - 05:19:03 PM
It becomes VERY minimalistic this way, almost naive or "naked" in a sense. I like it. but I don't know why. :)

Interesting observations. I wrote the music such that each iteration of the chords has a slightly different melody line, but after the computer processes the music those differences could get erased or altered.

Fascinating. Digital prepared piano. If John Cage could have gotten a hold of a DAW he might of created something like this. Did you also randomize the reverb effect?

The 'Verb . . . &mdash 07/12/08 - 03:40:27 PM
is a delay line granulator that is a bounded randomly controlled program, and many of it's inputs are random to an extent.

It'd have been a great day to see John Cage using Pro Tools or Logic. There's a story of him hounding the Bell Labs to get a long printed list of random numbers for him to use in his compositions. If only he'd had his own computer and random number generator....

Thanks for listening.
