Description:
Just threw something together to hold me off while I wait for that "Classical" music thing.

It's a bit dark... or is it? I guess, to me, it's just a bit of reality and doesn't have to be tragic.

Lyrics:
All the mountains
All the buildings
The greatest songs
All their feeling
Flights of birds
All their wheeling
Will fade away

All the empires
All the trees
Highways stretching
Cars then roaming
Ways of fish
The rivers foaming
Will all be gone

And all the days and nights
will go away
Hard and soft, bright and grey
become dust
Then, when memory fails
And peace prevails
Time goes on

Thanks Man! &mdash 07/05/08 - 03:02:15 PM
There's a lot of vocals in there. That's kind of new for me. Only one guitar.

I'm glad you liked the speaking layer. I felt it needed a ghost of some sort.

Thanks for the comment!

I'm glad for your comment. Sometimes I remember that we are a within a twinkling of an eye, so to speak.

The lead did not come easily and in certain levels a work in progress. Time will tell, eh?

Peace,
Doug

Good going,... &mdash 07/05/08 - 05:31:11 PM
relaxing recitial, nice words. All will be gone? I imagine so the way we treat the earth, depleting it all, even the renewable stuff before nature can recycle it. Let's hope we get our act together before it is too late, yes she will continue without us if we bring about our own extinction. Gaia theory says the earth is an organism and is eliminating us as we are bad for it and she is self regulating. I think of Gaia theory when I hear this.

If I redo this one, I'll probably extend the end and drift ever so slowly to a fade...

Thanks for the visit!

Nice one Doug &mdash 07/05/08 - 10:30:17 PM
Very atmospheric - I hear a late night bar and a hugely appreciative crowd of maybe 10 (that girl at the bar seems to be watching you).

For some reason I got a Jobim vibe in the lyrics.

Good post!

I picture it:

Dim light, smoke. Pool table, quiet now for the last hours of the night. People lean into their drinks, some stir, others quiet. Sigh in this tiny universe, quietly suspended, has it's own time...

Hi Doug &mdash 07/06/08 - 12:52:48 AM
This is the first thing I've heard of yours. I need to get out more often. Loved the music, the feel, the overall presentation. If you're looking for any comments on philosophic stimulation, I have to say I picked up on a hint of Solomonic wisdom: "All is vanity." Don't clutch onto anything that's just going to vanish, or you'll vanish right along with it. Terry. Again, loved this!

Glad you like it! I caught your stuff for the first time recently, real nice.

Thanks for the insight. And probably true. Then who knows, we might all be wrong about everything?! Ha-ha!

Thanks for taking the time!

More, damnit!! &mdash 07/07/08 - 10:29:11 AM
Fab! Please, please - it sounds like an extended into to an even more Epic (Heavy?) track.

Write more,!!! damnit

Hey John! &mdash 07/07/08 - 06:11:16 PM
I could see Heavy. I suppose something about inevitable breakdown of matter, in a symbolic sort of way. I could also bring in the fact that from reformed pieces, new wholeness can be developed. That's how I see it at this point!

Exactly! &mdash 07/09/08 - 05:58:57 AM
and throw in some allusions to the Missing Mass and the great mystery of Dark Matter. Only with more distortion!

All is gone but time &mdash 07/09/08 - 07:36:52 PM
Great twist to a theory that nothing will last but time. Lyrics nicely laid on a bed of music that made me feel this snap of realization. Fine piece of work. Thanks for sharing.

Love this &mdash 07/10/08 - 08:57:56 PM
Great lyrics, and a really, really nice vocal performance. The echoey, ethereal guitar works really well, and the scary voices add a nice eerie element. Sad, yes, and dark, yes, but as you say - it's reality. Beautiful. Nicely done. Peace.
