Description:
I had the sketch for this song lying around on my hard drive for months
Fishcow got involved and created a preliminary arrangement and added drums/cellos and most importantly recruited lenny to do the vocals.
Lenny crafted his lyrical content around the idea of the 'Human Be-In' held in San Francisco in 1967 where 20,000 hippies were turning on to acid and Timothy Leary made his famous quote "Tune in, turn on, drop out."

very nice mix indeed. great vocals! like the chorus (or is it prechorus?) progression. simple but very effective and nice.
only i might try differently is increasing the sustain of the piano (especially during it's solo). was a sustain pedal used? if so, maybe try compressing the piano (fast attack and soft knee, most likely) which quite often reduces the attack/transients of a piano and brings out the sustain. just my $.02. still, great job all around. The piano only comes in at the solo and when I originally did the rough track for this, it kind of reminded me of some of the clunky, poppy piano on Bowie's Hunky Dory. I wanted to maintain that clunky, choppy feel but I take your point and I may experiment with your suggestion on a possible future remix

surprise to tune into to. Great memory lane ran down my spine with flash backs to then. I was there then in Golden Gate Park and was living at Ashberry and Page street just up from the pan handle part of the park. A year later i played on the Dog Wagon at the Monterey Rock festival, and the first Love In's in souther Cal.
