Keywords:
Star Spangled Banner (1)
Description:
My daughter is having her 4th birthday party this saturday (Today, July 14th, is her birthday). She requested a "Wall-E and American Flag" birthday party. She's been really in to the Star Spangled Banner of late. Don't know why. We're not crazy patriotic or crazy unpatriotic, but other than the occasional baseball game I have no idea where she hears it so much. Anyway, I made this little ditty for her birthday party. We're also playing Wall-E says (Simon says) using commands I made in GB and altering the voice to sound like Wall-E. It's going to be AWESOME. Robot birthday party. Hell yes.

Lyrics:
You either know them or you don't.

First off, I think you've stolen the title of the week crown from Ibstrat's 'Electric Lute Land' - I started smiling as soon as I saw the title! Very nicely done. Best birthday wishes to your daughter and congrats to her cool father for doing such a cool thing. Peace.

If just for one day, I'm proud to have the honor of having the coolest title. My daugher loves when I put these things together for her so I feel like a legend in my own house, which is the important part.

please please post it. I would love to hear it. I have so much more fun making songs with my daughter these days than anything else. I need to cherish these days as much as possible because there will come a day when I'm just her lame old man that likes to make robot songs.

I know I'm on to something when she asks to hear it again... and again... and again. Initially I overdid it with the background noise. There was a LOT going on that just clouded it up.

I`ve got a four-year old son, and if he is anything like your daughter, I`m sure she`s going to love this.

Great when we can make joy with our music like that.

Happy robot birthday party!

Kids love robots and that makes them AWESOME. Perhaps in the year 2000 we'll have robots pilot our flying cars. Thanks for listening.

Hi! &mdash 07/15/08 - 09:57:34 PM
Making my daughter happy is pretty easy. Do anything with a ninja/pirate/robot twist is sure to grab her attention and make you her hero. I, of course, milk that.

cool &mdash 07/15/08 - 05:47:39 PM
i like the arrangement, and of course the sentiment. my kid like bears, but I don't think there is a bear-coder plugin. speaking of that, how did you get the robot voice in GB? i could never figure it out. have a good time at the wall-e/flag party.

Bearcoder... hmmm. If anyone could manipulate sound to make it sound like bears my money would be on you. The robot voice was just done by going in to my "system Preferences" and selecting the "Speech" function. It gives you like 40 voices to choose from. I went for Zarvox. Then I just typed the lyrics in to email and used the speech utility with a track recording. VERY basic. You can hear my chair squeak a few times. Thanks for listening!

you are looking for. Thanks for coming by. Between this songs and your pledge of allegiance song we've got the beginnings of the strangest patriotic album ever. Think of how pissed the old people will be.

LOL... &mdash 07/17/08 - 11:19:54 AM
...I'm a schoolteacher. Every schoolday morning, first thing, they pipe the pledge and Star Spangled Banner through the intercom system.

Imagining this instead of the usual...very funny...

Happy BDay to your li'l one...thanks for the post.

I'd love for someone somewhere to throw that down. I remember being in school and doing that stuff. I never had a problem with saying the pledge or listening to the national anthem, but I thought it was weird they FORCED everyone to stand and pledge. Something odd about forcing someone to pay their respects to freedom. But that's another conversation.

I want to hear this &mdash 07/18/08 - 01:00:12 AM
version open an NBA game. The singer wouldn't have to worry about high notes or melody, I guess he could still flub the words. Very Interesting.

That would be good, too. Have you ever seen Marvin Gaye do the Star Spangled Banner? There's a video of it on YouTube. It's the sexiest version EVER. If I weren't at work, I'd find it and post it.

Thanks for listening to this tune!
