Description:
This mix a new. It is one of the first of my new mixes.
I've had a couple or so weeks away from my normal stuff on MJ's, trying to reformat my mind as there was a lot of old data up there that I no longer cared to keep.
I'm hoping that by Christmas I will be doing all sorts of new stuff and thinking from a different perspective about life and everything else.
The mix is nothing spectacularly new or different, just new from my point of view.
Please let me know what you think, in any way you care to share.

hey paul &mdash 07/15/08 - 05:39:11 PM
you're back. so there is a whole "why no constructive criticism?" thing going on in the forums right now, and I am listening to this with an ear for constructive criticism.only problem is I don't have any. I like this as is (very Tangerine Dream), and it moves along nicely. I like the sounds you used and the repitition is right up my alley.
Oh wait, got some: maybe a little more bottom end would be nice (although I am listening to this on my laptop speakers). [ Reply to This ]
Hi Michael..... &mdash 07/19/08 - 02:43:31 AM
I dropped out because of various issues with my life. I've now resolved or at least identified some of these and so can move forward somewhat to where my reality is with respect to how I want that reality to 'be'.
My music and music ideas are changing and this is because I'm bored with what I do now. I need to do something different again and get more interested in what I put together.
The repetition in this piece is down to laziness on my part. I seem to avoid variation and/or mixing tracks together with variations, even subtle ones. This will change as this year progresses.
Take care.

Hi Daniel...... &mdash 07/19/08 - 02:47:18 AM
This type of music is just middle of the road, elevator music, that could play in the background in many situations without disturbing the hell out of anyone, although I wouldn't want to get trapped in an elevator for longer than 5 minutes with this going on on the background, or maybe even less than 5 minutes!!
You're right. It could be one of TG's outtakes.
Take care.

What can I say &mdash 07/15/08 - 06:06:57 PM
I think this is what I like.... For me it is a good piece of work who flow so easy in to my ears... This sort of music give me space to think as I have my headphones on and closed my eyes and just flow with the music... Okay I don't like that ending but that is a bagatelle I can live with.
Thank you for sharing
Take care

Hi Kenta.... &mdash 07/19/08 - 02:51:05 AM
I hope everything is going OK for you in your life at the moment.
The ending is just a simple fade-out and so, from one point of view, is the easy way out. I originally thought that the straight, abrupt stopping of all music was good but also thought that people would not appreciate this in the way that I did.
I'm glad you found this piece OK to relax to. I too enjoy pieces that allow me to chill.
Take care.

Very nice &mdash 07/15/08 - 08:23:33 PM
Lovely sound, as usual! And this is a really nice interesting piece; it pulls you in, in a very cinematic way. Has a kind of Blade Runner quality to it. I think the sound is terrific. I really don't hear anything to criticize about it. Having said that, I would love to hear a big change, to a completely different chord at about the 3 minute mark. Just my thing. Very cool. Nicely done. Peace. [ Reply to This ]
Hi Dajama....... &mdash 07/19/08 - 02:57:07 AM
I feel happy that you thought this piece was good.
I had some misgivings about it because it sounded very similar to some of my other stuff, but it was the most 'equal' piece that I had developed over the last few days, so was potentially acceptable. There were no glaring instruments or fiddly bits and the sound quality was fine, so that also put my mind at ease.
My final reason for picking this one to upload was that I enjoyed the occasional tune bits that crop up two or three times in the mix. It seemed to add contrast.
Take care.

I like it! &mdash 07/17/08 - 01:03:55 PM
This is the kind of music I like. Would live to hear a pause or 2 to kind of make it a little more mysterious.
Nicely done!

Hi....... &mdash 07/19/08 - 02:59:57 AM
You are right about the pauses. I just don't take enough care with my pieces and this has been going on a while now.
I may revisit this mix and see what I can do, but for now I'll leave it be.
I'm glad that you got some enjoyment out of the mix.
Take care.

Hi Linda...... &mdash 07/19/08 - 03:05:03 AM
Welcome back and I hope that now all the recent problems with yours (and Kentas) lives are behind you.
My musical and personal lives are going to change. I'm in a rut and so need to pull myself out, hence the comments about change and new ideas. I can pull this off so we'll see what change brings over the next few months. There's tons of conventional music stuck in my brain and it needs to see the light of day. THEN there'll be room for something else.
Take care.
