Description:
this song originated from the main guitar arrangement. the beat is more of a steady down tempo groove, with additional guitar melodies throughout the song. needs vocals, so i've changed it to an open collaboration. any suggestions, or additions; i'd love to see where this song can go.

Relaxing! &mdash 07/16/08 - 12:36:16 AM
What I personally like the best is the clean guitar sound, and perhaps you should make it a little bit more louder or let it linger more on the phrases.
I hope I make sense.

makes sense... &mdash 07/16/08 - 01:19:57 AM
yeah, the staccoto feel of some the phrasing could use some sustain. this is a rough idea (far from polished, always open to new ideas). i've got vocals planned for this song, just no where near finished with the lyrics...

High bass, low guitar? &mdash 07/16/08 - 08:06:32 AM
Are you playing bass on your guitar? I hear some sounds that could be either a very clear a bass or a very low guitar.

Some cool chords in this, but I'm missing the melody. Gimme a hook that I can remember please. This is more "noodling". Good sounding noodling, but still.

seven string &mdash 07/16/08 - 10:35:21 AM
yeah,i've got a seven string ESP guitar, and i use the low B string a lot for bass lines. the 8 track has effects for a bass simulator, it works ok if you put it way down in the mix, but i'm gonna invest in a real bass soon.

Really nice sound and production &mdash 07/16/08 - 10:03:18 AM
excellent playing too - but I'm also looking for a melody - which could come with the vocal in which case this would be a fine bed. I hear bit s of Waterfall here and there. Take it further - you're off to a great start.

Lovely bed .. &mdash 07/16/08 - 07:24:02 PM
.. looking for some vocals to lie in it. This is a great start to a really interesting song. Instrumentally, I like it, and it sets a lovely vibe. Very interesting combination of loops and live playing. Maybe some more variation in the kit/percs wouldn't hurt, but not a big issue.
I see this as a definite work in progress and look forward to hearing it more developed.

nice &mdash 07/17/08 - 11:49:51 AM
warm sounds going on and the mixture of instruments too is very easy on the ear. Love to hear a vocal on this, but a nice relaxing listen indeed, cheers M

Your guitar &mdash 07/18/08 - 05:35:14 PM
sounds and playing are very impressive. i wish I could get a sound like that. Like the restrained rhythm/beats - a really enjoyable groove. I can see this working as very effective background/movie music - but could really go somewhere interesting with vocals.
Welcome to Macjams and I look forward to hearing more, great first post.
Cheers
