Description:
It started off as an ambient track until I did a beat and I had the midi markers too close to each other. So the snares were very dancey, a mistake but it worked so it stayed (happens to most of my tracks). So after that I built the track around the beat. Hope you like it.

Youre right, it has an interesting feel to it. I'm not really a big fan of the saxophone sounding instrument in there, but other than that, this is a really nice track for being unplanned. Nice reverb and filters on the synths. Interesting mix in of the ethnic drums.
Diviner
for listening and commenting. Shame about the brass sound however I like the rhythm and glad you like evrything else. Thanks again.

Good to see you so happy. Thanks for listening and commenting, and pleased that you like the track.

then you should be more careless. This sounds very good to me. I love the drums throughout this, and the melodic riff works very well, I think. The use of the tabla (?) drums is very effective. Very cool. Nicely done. peace.

lol, to tell you the truth it happens most of the time due to my skill level however if it works it stays. Appreciate you listening and commenting and really pleased you like it.
Keith I love it !

Always good to see you. Really pleased you like the track esp that it makes you smile. :-)
Thanks again Dee xxxxx
Very engaging track Keith. Interesting array of sounds over trace percussion. Clean and spacious mix. NICE!
Be well!

for listening and commenting. I'm really pleased that it caught your attention and that you like it. I might do more tracks with like this in future, so watch this space. Makes a change from the trance tracks. Thanks again Micheal.

First impression: belongs in the *Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou* soundtrack. It's eclectic, understated the whole time, and quietly groovy.
You have a really nice balance between all the tracks in here Diviner, but it lacks a certain passion to my ear. I guess I'd describe it as "intellectual and detached" if I were writing an AllMusicGuide article for it. Whatever that's worth. Maybe playing with the dynamics of the song, inserting a crescendo, would put some fire into it?
Nice work, despite my vague comments,

Thanks for listening and commenting. I really appreciate the detailed (although you said vague) review. I helps me to think and improve the next tracks. I probably did make this track intellectually. I personally think that some vocals over this track would add feeling (a little like Idioteque by Radiohead, which the beat reminded me of after I had done it). Thanks again Greg.

When I'm not jamming out to Cake, I'll give this another listen, but from what I remember Radiohead style vox would do well I think: appropriately mechanical and human.
Looking forward to the next take,

I like the sequence of instruments and the rhythm. I think it sounds a little video gamish. Its very well put together and very busy.
Diviner
for listening and commenting. lol, video gamish? That was not the intention but I can see this track with Sonic the Hedgehog now that you mention it.

I know where gregd's coming from, but I don't think a structural change (crescendo, etc) is required. The song has a definite 'intellectual' (as in, distant) vibe; I think a mix that doesn't blend everything so nicely would be a refreshing celebration of the digital feel of this song.
Diviner
Really appreciate seeing your comment and thanks for listening. I think because I have to pencil the midi in rather then play it, it does mean everything is distant rather then emotional. Thanks again.
.. about it being very dancy.
I think that the base sound could be turn down just a tad, it's got the type of frequency that pushes a little at your eardrums.
Other than that I think it's pretty cool.
Diviner
its always appreciated. I find most of the tracks I do does have the bass too loud, but I do like my bass esp when it tickles the eardrums (which is probably not a good sign), lol. Thanks again.
