Description:
I have added an intro and ending to the original "Cheyenne's Song"
This song was created by June and I to honor the birth of our newest granddaughter.
I used an $18.95 microphone from RadioShack and their Four channel mixer through M-Audio's "Monster Cable" to the line input of my iMac. The instuments were recorders accessed by Andy Drabel's Soundfont synth. Sadly his program no longer works with Leopard. I'm glad I transfered it to iTunes.

Lyrics:
Cheyenne's Song
Lyrics by June R. Fahnestock
Melody by David E. Fahnestock

Soft as a petal
Sweeter than a rosebud
Fresh like a shower in the morning new
Blue eyes that sparkle
Dazzle those around you
Are you an angel, come from heaven above?

How did you know that you are what we dreamed of?
Who was it told you, you're our dream come true?

Soft little baby, your world waits before you
Sweetly imagine all you're going to do
Soft little baby, your world waits before you
Sweetly imagine all you're going to do

How did you know that you are what we dreamed of?
Who was it told you, you're our dream come true?

Sleep little baby, trust these arms that hold you
Nothing will harm you, or will make you cry
You are secure in all of us who love you
Sleep while I sing a baby lulaby

Aren't grandchildren just amazing! We only have one, but she's absolutely the apple of our eye.

This is a really lovely lullaby for little Cheyanne (who looks like such a cutie), and I'm sure she'll treasure this as she gets older. Here's the song I wrote when our granddaughter Aja was born http://www.macjams.com/song/22219

It's terrific that you are posting these tunes here David. You and June have written a lovely set of lyrics on this.

btw I haven't voted on this.

Cheers from Australia,
Neil

When I added the voice track, I used the count in feature of GarageBand. As a consequence, soft as a feather became oft as a feather. Doesn't work too well for vocal.

Enjoyed the song you wrote for Aja. I assume that is your wife and daughter fussing over little Aja.

Wish I had the talent you have. Seems I always have simple melodys going around in my head. the only way I can express them is by vocalizing (which I'm always doing), or by simple two finger harmony on my M-AUDIO keyboard.

Simple melodies are often the best ones.
