Stop War - Have Mercy

Description
I continue my serial "Stop War" with a track in which I use an old medieval prayer with the mantra-liturgical-word "eleison" which is old Greece and means "Have Mercy".

Music, Vocals and Production by Dirigent

The melody is taken from a Bicinium of an unknown composer (11th or 12 th century)

The picture is taken from a press-report about German soldiers in Afghanistan ...

Lyrics
Cunctipotens genitor Deus, omni creator, eleison!
Christe, Dei splendor, virtus patrisque, sophia, eleison,
Amborum sacrum spiramen, nexus amorque, eleison!

English Translation:
Almighty creator, God, you created everything, have mercy!
Christ, splendor of God, power of the father, wisdom, have mercy!
Holy Spirit of both and beholden love, have mercy!

Hi dirigent
amazes me how you manage to hit those hight notes. This is very moving and emotional. You sing sooo beautiful just like an Angel
And the music arrangement is brilliant. A great joy to listen to your wonderful music arrangements as well. Thank you.

Peace Dee.

Great stuff
This is a really cool combination of old and new sounds. Something in your percussion, now that I know the song is about war, almost sounds like the sound of rifles loading..

Impressive track.

Hauntingly soberingly beautiful
Andreas, you are miles above genius at music creations. Your voice is so pure and perfectly pitched, and your compositions are amazing. Wow.

As I said on iComps...
This is the most inspirational piece I've heard in a long time. Not just the lyrical purpose, the cause, but the sound and production - the sheer artistry! I'm planning a musical project on the Dead Can Dance/Vas vein - and this has truly inspired me. Many thanks!

Andreas
You have such a wonderful way of combining genres (and centuries for that matter). This reminds me so much of Gentle Giant, and English band I saw in Mannheim in the mid 70s. If you haven't heard them, I'd highly recommend them to you - I think "Freehand" is the album I'd recommend most highly. I keep expecting this to take off into more rock areas. Have a listen to GG and you'll hear what I mean. Try "On Reflection" as a typical track.

This really is incredible - you never fail to amaze and inspire me Andreas.

Thanks,
Neil
