Lyrics
This is just a test
At the pentacle's request
You've got a front row seat wear your best
They've got the code for alchemy

A day at the dessert park
Where they get to glow in the dark
By the torch of a thousand suns

Pray for the downwinders
Forgotten Downwonders
Look away for the downwinders, the downwinders
Tell us is it safe?

Here's the warning sign
Now take your iodine
Though you are all expendable

Pray for the downwinders
Forgotten Downwinders
Look away for the downwinders, the downwinders
Tell us is it safe?

Disintegrate and decimate
They'll tear the sky down just to burn the air

Downwinders
Pray for the downwinders
Forgotten Downwinders
Look away for the downwinders, the downwinders
Tell us is it safe?

Downwinders
wow ian, this is intensely excellent! I'm really impressed by how this is put together (great drumming!), and your vocals/lyrics here are hauntingly making their point. The ending feels a bit abrupt to me, but maybe that's just because I wasn't ready for the song to be over. Congrats on this!

I Can Hardly Wait...
for the logical companion piece, *Skywalkers*... about The Pentacle's early LSD experiments with its own soldiers and scientists. ;)

Nicely done, Ian... as always.

Love the dust!
Love the warm guitar sound. (Ever heard of April Wine?) Great singing, I particularly like the harmony in the verse. And the drums sound great. Are they the real thing? Sure sounds like it. Nice tasty solo and a cool ending. I dig it. Great song with masterful production.

rhythm guitar is ran through the amp model in GarageBand.... I tweaed till it sounded right....the lead is through my Big D 50 watt tube head through my 4x12 with Vintage 30's.... and yep the drums are real....my kit is a mid 1970's slingerland and the sanre on this tune is a mid 90's Ludwig Steel Snare....never really listened to april wine however....lol....thanks for stopping by

i've got it...
ok, i now i know who your voice reminds me of (and this whole tune, as a matter of fact) edwin from i mother earth. (i mean that as a compliment.) very cool song again. great production. nice playing by all members of your band. ;)

i second the motion about your gtr tone. neck pickup on verse rhtyms? sounds very good. the Maj 3rds in your rhythm cords are very smooth. did you tune your b string specially for that?

hmm
never really listened to IME but thanks for the compliment.... the guitar is just standard tuning in 440....and one track is on the neck pickup and the other is on the bridge pickup.... glad you like the "band" ;) lol....thanks for listening

cool.
very smooth, nonetheless. (i've, on occasion, tuned the ol' b-string a little flat to achieve a more natural tuning.) your guitar must be intonated well. plus, you've probably got that natural ability to detect and pull/push strings to keep them tightly in tune. (maybe i'm just talking out of my arse. :)

NICE
Yet another song that I somehow let slip by my attention...

LOVE LOVE LOVE the intro riff, the twist at the end of the phrase is awesome.

Great changes at the end of the song. Lyrics are awesome.

This will probably end up as one of my favorite Springclock songs. Gotta D/L and take some more listens.

What's the word? Word up!

ah ha!
I detect a very slight touch of Kyuss/Queens of the Stone Age in the "turnaround" at the end of the intro guitar riff.
