I like how you step outside of standard song structure and just let it go. The critiques I would normally hand out (timing, volume balance, etc) don't work because those items are part of these songs. It's hard to explain, but I'm sure you know what I mean. great stuff great instrumentation. love how you pitch shifted your violin into becoming a cello. heck, i love that you are actually playing a real violin and real drums. is it just you or a band? obviously not to a click track, but it works and adds to the charm. great vocal too. the high end sounds sweet! thanks for rerecording and sharing this! Liz Phair .. .. sounds like. Great writing. As a bass player, I find the timing issues a bit of a problem. I know I should perhaps just accept things as they are, but there's so much weaving in and out of time that it does detract from the song. I think you might really benefit from using a click track or even a dummy drum track using loops to get the timing right (you can remove it later when you do your own drum track). Your voice sounds great, and as I said, it's a really good song. Have a listen to Liz Phair's "White Chocolate Space Egg" (or something like that - you might find it interesting. I really like this one because it's creative, you play well, sing well, and the pace is slower. That's just my personal preference, being older and not really into the fast beat music. I like to hear the instruments and let the lyrics get into my head instead of them rushing by. I'd love to hear more like this, with the mando sometime soon. :-) Check out my latest song called Sweet Grace
