Description
I recorded the intro awhile ago, but decided to redo it, and it turned into this music. The "cellos" are my violin down 8 octaves. Its kinda slow.

Intro To Friendship
Impressive ...the twist in the tempo was brilliant
the use of your insterments very much in control of
what you want to ..and that s great to see ..a real
step forward seeing the quality of the tracks with
less hiss and distortion ..great ending as well ..
KUDOS ....You Rock Kurtis !!!!!

It was so quiet, at first, so I
I turned up the speakers. Then, I had to turn them down again. Nice surprise, that. Good song. Thank you. :)

I like
how you step outside of standard song structure and just let it go. The critiques I would normally hand out (timing, volume balance, etc) don't work because those items are part of these songs. It's hard to explain, but I'm sure you know what I mean. I'm always excited to see that you've posted something new. Thanks!

great stuff
great instrumentation. love how you pitch shifted your violin into becoming a cello. heck, i love that you are actually playing a real violin and real drums. is it just you or a band?

obviously not to a click track, but it works and adds to the charm. great vocal too. the high end sounds sweet! thanks for rerecording and sharing this!

Liz Phair ..
.. sounds like.

Great writing. As a bass player, I find the timing issues a bit of a problem. I know I should perhaps just accept things as they are, but there's so much weaving in and out of time that it does detract from the song.

I think you might really benefit from using a click track or even a dummy drum track using loops to get the timing right (you can remove it later when you do your own drum track). Your voice sounds great, and as I said, it's a really good song.

Have a listen to Liz Phair's "White Chocolate Space Egg" (or something like that - you might find it interesting.

Cheers,
Neil

ACtually, I just seem not to know where these spots are. haha, im so bad with timing, that i can't hear where it goes off? Which spots were off? It would be great if you could tell me so i can fix ittt :D

Timing
Hi Kurtis,

Probably the best way to hear the timing glitches is to use the metronome built in to GB or Logic or whatever you are using. I expect you'll soon hear what I mean.

Cheers,
Neil

I really like this one
because it's creative, you play well, sing well, and the pace is slower. That's just my personal preference, being older and not really into the fast beat music. I like to hear the instruments and let the lyrics get into my head instead of them rushing by. I'd love to hear more like this, with the mando sometime soon. :-)

Interesting production
I enjoyed the piece. Reminded me a little of the beatles with the stringed instruments and the backwards cymbals with a very contemporary vocal line on top. Nice job

The arrangement is right on. Some fine playing as well. Great tune. I only wish the lyrics were posted.
