Description:
Dark ambient. I made the name up, but when I checked, found out that "Mirak" is a planet in Star Trek. It's also a star - for real!

All made with the Zebra 2 softsynth, with a couple of FX from the DubStation AU.

Hope you might like it and thanks for stopping by!

Hardware:
G5 iMac, Edirol midi controller

Pulcherrima ....
A little puzzle for you.

You really know how to put that Zebra to work. Top production, as always.
davajonah said 339 days ago (July 30th, 2008)
A puzzle! A Google!
I think [please correct] that "Pulcherrima" is another name for Mirak [or Mirac, Mirach, Mizar] which is situated in the constellation of Bootes. The Loincloth??

Also - Euphorbia Pulcherrima is the latin name for the Poinsettia, or "Christmas Star" plant, that people buy at that time of year. That's the best I can do!!

Thanks for the listen and comment. I love the Zebra, I wish I could do more with it.

MJ is so educational!
See, I also cheated and used Wikipedia to find out that Mirak is a double star system, with the most prominent member being an "orange giant."

"I think [please correct] that "Pulcherrima" is another name for Mirak [or Mirac, Mirach, Mizar] which is situated in the constellation of Bootes. The Loincloth??"

Ding ding ding ding!

Ah, but you only get partial credit. You missed the embedded compliment on your song: "Pulcherimma" means "the beautiful."

Educational!
Yes - and now you may have kindled an interest in the stars. I know nothing about them!

As for "beautiful", well what can I say but thank you.

Love the riff
Very cool sounds D - the riff is screaming out for funky drums and bass - may I play with this?

Space oddity
There's something sinister going on in those mines. Some nice synth work. Enjoyed.

Very nice
Really liked this tune, the synth sounds are lovely and well arranged. Nice one, very impressed.

P.s. Do you program your own settings on the Dubstation or (like me) just use the presets?

Cheers Bro!
Erm... I tweak the presets. Programming is too much like hard work. ;-)

Thanks for the listen.

Evocative
Nicely elaborate array of sounds and textures blended in here ... I especially like when the bright bell-like sound comes in, around two-and-a-half minutes in. A finely crafted mixture.
