Description:
Our first composition under the name 'the meaning of life'. We used an unusual sounding riff I had as a jumping off point and wrote/tracked it from there. We never got around to cleaning up any of the playing, so there's some sloppy parts.

Scott Davies:
Ac Guitar, Banjo, Electric Guitar, Production

Blake Creamer:
Ac Guitar, Electric Guitar, Bass, Synth, Bells

live.
thanks, feter! i think the 'live' feel comes from us (or me, at least) trying to remember what the heck the next chord is. we wrote it and recorded it the same day. actually, the process was faster than that even. more like 'oooh, that sounds good... ok, record that!' :)

yessir
really nice. i think 'sloppy' works to the song's advantage in this case, though I can't exactly hear what you mean. those changes and riffs are really unique. I don't know how you always come up with stuff like this. Makes me feel like a little 3 chord wannabe.

the secret.
the secret is... drugs. ha! hardly. we were the antithesis of a rock band in that way.

but seriously, i think we pushed each other (or, at least i felt pushed) to go the extra mile. blake went to cap college for jazz, so he's got lot's of ideas to pull from. a deep creative centre, i guess you could say. like the nugget in a mars bar.

wannabe
and you use a LOT more than three chords, dood. you just have good rock sensibilities. and i would say that you are the farthest thing from a wannabe.

seriously though, Ten Dollar Thompson's up there with my other fave bands, so it's a real treat for me to hear new stuff from you guys. Please keep up the pushing.
