Description
This is a little song based on the text of Carlo Sigismondo Capece, an italian poet from a 15th century. (See Lyrics btn.) The duet alternates between Italian and English. It is scored for soprano and bass, and singers are accompanied by piano and horn. It's a classical/romantic/art song.

It is scored for soprano and bass, but in this version, both parts are sung by my friend Holly.

Lyrics
Non lo diro col Labbro
Che tanto ardir non ha;
Forse con le faville
Dell'avide pupille,
Per dir come tutt'ardo,
Lo sguardo Parlera.

I will not say it with my lips
which haven't the courage to speak.
Perhaps the sparks from my burning eyes
will reveal my passion
and my look
will speak my heart.

melody orig?
Yes, I found this in a singing book with music by Handel. I didn't think the music suited the sentiment as I understood it, so I wrote this very different music, and crafted it as a duet.
