Description
I heard this cover of famous O'Carolan piece by the great Pierre Bensusan, in the 80's.
Here is an arrangement I did for the 12 string guitar.

Nice
I know this piece very well ... O'Carolan wrote some very fine tunes. A good interpretation here. I like the way the bass strings act as a drone.

The 12-string guitar has a really nice full and bright sound.

My 12-string guitar is fantastic ! I love it :-)
It's a Lowden. I asked George Lowden about it and he replied it was just a try. What a f...ing good try !
You can see pics of it on my web site.

Tune
I am not familiar with the tune, but this has a melancholy to it. Your guitar playing speaks as though this were a ballad without words.

Thanks

TY :-)
As I listen to it now (this record is from November 2007), I see I play it a little slowly now, and quite more "rubato" in the first and last parts... better to increase the melancholy it inspires.
On this record, I play in E major (capo 2 on open D tuning) but now I play it in D major (no capo).

Thank you :-)
I also like Carolan's music very much.
I discover this piece in a <a href="http://pierrebensusan.com">Pierre Bensusan</a> album... but this arrangement for 12 string guitar is mine.

12 String
An excellent version of O'Carolan's masterly music. How refreshing to hear it played on 12 string! Thank you!
