Lyrics
Goodbye
Copyright Nick Frank

Tired, I'm so tired of pushing up the hill that I don't want to go
I've stared out at the rainfall...

Tired, I'm so tired of pushing up the hill that I don't want to go
I've stared out at the rainfall and I'd drown in less than this
It's not something that I'll miss
I've carried on much longer than my friends would want for me

Tire, don't you tire of listening to me when you don't want know?
I've stared out every window and there's nothing that I'll miss
You'll be happier than this
I've carried on much longer than my friends would want for me

Goodbye

pan
I like the panning and the space in between that is provided.... like the slap delay on the voice as well....
this reminds me of something and I can't quite put my finger on it.... vox are a little pitchy here and there but that may be what you are after.... love the ringo starr drums fills.... would like to here the drums pop a bit more and they rush a tad here and there at the end of a couple of the cycles... but still this is a very honest recording and I can dig that....welcome to MJ ....peace and future....Ian

Thanks
Thanks for the comments. I really appreciate them and they echo my thoughts on this song/mix.

I was really interested in giving things some room. I feel like often with all of the technology we have available we tend to fill all the space because we can and I am trying to avoid that when possible.

I've gone back and forth on the drums - whether I want them to be more traditionally poppy v. jazzy and understated.

These were first takes for the most part. My approach is to get things down roughly, getting production kind of where I want it and the re-performing over a more finished aural background. Since I'm used to performing with other people, I have a hard time really getting into the earlier takes since there is nothing to play off of. I plan on fixing the Vox and a couple other spots - the guitar solo has a lot of elements that I like but has some spots that really lack focus/direction.

Thanks for the welcome also - Peace

Sorry I am so
late to this - been on holiday.
I can really relate to these lyrics at the moment. Love the way it builds. I think the bass could be more prominent I could hardly hear it. Again, welcome to Macjams.
Cheers
Len
