well...i have no new music to offer...and as it works out, i have no music left, as i lost almost all my recordings in several disk crashes. I did make a copy of one of my favorite colabs from several years back, so I did get a chance to fix a few nits and re-mix and master EINARUS's Rampancy. I had a lot of others i was going to do this with, but they are all gone...
Einarus has written several things for me and i love his compositions. This one may be my favorite. It contains some of the first acoustic guitar parts i ever did,,,and the remaster helps the acoustic. But the remaster REALLY brings forth eins keyboard and synth work and adds a very acoustic bass feel to the low end.
thanks again ein, for the great vehicle to play over.

oh ziti - when I saw you'd posted, I was hoping your hard drive had been saved. Alas - I LOVE this, one of my all time faves - so it's wonderful you've got it. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you still might be able to pull this out from the jaws of death. Deepest bows my man!

in all aspects! This sounds like the music you hear at Cirque du Soleil or something. (wish I could spell it).
You created a total mood Fran!
And I love the painting too!

to it. Well done, I love the keyboard. Acoustic parts sound real good too. Lead riffs work well, not overdone. Leaves you with a peaceful feeling.
Good one!

in this track. Simply brilliant from you both. I am really bummed to hear of your data woes. I wish you the best in this regards, you are a huge talent and I hope somehow you find a way to salvage something.

This is beautiful. I enjoyed every note. It is well written and composed. Great synth and guitar work, brilliant performances from you both. I can only say this about the production. I like the warmness of it however, parts of it sound over compressed to me, almost like you were trying to get that analog type of warmth we all miss in this, our new digital world, and you might have tried a bit to hard. The bass isn't as distinct as it could be, it sounds a bit on the heavy side, the piano could be a touch more crisp as well, the kick drum is cool with that heart beat rhythm at the beginning although it sounds really muddy. Just what my ears are telling me, and I always stand to be corrected he he. Little things :) on a gorgeous piece. Still gonna D/L.
I am so sorry to hear of your loss I hope you might be able to recover some or all of which you lost.
ziti
i didndt haver the multi track of EINs part of this, so a lot of the background music wasnt really that tweakable....as far as the low end goes..i was hoping for a string bass sort of feel...
i really appreciate the listen and the feedback!

This is such a spectacular, moving piece. It takes the listener on a wonderful journey. Sonically, it's just beautiful. It sounds gorgeous.
Two great musicians pairing up to do great work. What a treat for MacJams. I hope there are many more from you two. Thanks for the treat for my iPod.

this is a great Ein composition...i have one he sent me a while back that sits unfinished...i had the acoustic guitar done for it and was working on the electric. It was a complex piece, and a very challenging one. I promise someday I will finish it! (altho I will need to start from scratch, that was on the crashed disk..)
thanks for our friendship!

I can really appreciate that you are a wonderful blues guitarist etc but your coolabs with Einarus really ROCKS! My favorite is The Edge of Reason, which I could easily put on repeat for a day or more. This one is close, maybe with some more listening it will be right up there. Soooo goood! Thanks for sharing!

Super mix, and your guitar lead part is very powerful. Hope you can sort out the crashes without too much expense or loss.
Thanks

Interesting to hear the heartbeat as an "on-beat" - I always imagine it to be on the "off" ..... but I digress. Lovely piece of work from you both. Ein must be all of 20 by now - amazing! There are, as has been pointed out, weaknesses in terms of lack of tweakability the sound of Ein's bed are apparent, but what stands out to me is your electric playing on this. "Soaring" is the word I think fits perfectly - it just takes off. I'd love to hear Einar take your guitar tracks now and remix them into his original files of Rampancy - should be a treat.
Great stuff Fran, I'd forgotten how good you play "soaring".
Cheers from Oz,
Neil
This is very bad. You need to get a dayjob.
Ed Hannifin
...and he somehow forgets to mention that he has had a hard drive crash...
When did this happen?!? And have you tried one of those retrieve-from-the-shattered-remnants-of-your-drive places?
Now I'm upset.
This mastering job sounds very good on the Sennheisers....

you play with such authentic fire... and emotion... you consistantly speak volumes into every piece that you lay hold of... been traveling back and forth to Indiana quite a bit (driving)... and I've been getting large doses of Fran the Man on my ipod... thanx

This was so good and I was enjoying it for what it was and then it got even more amazing with that powerful face melt. I really liked the bass sounds here too. Great work!!
