Description:
Sorry it's another song about dreams; seems I have a fixation LOL. This could be classed as a kind of lullaby I suppose, but I wrote it as an accompaniment for the photo above of my Grand Niece Saskia. She will be three years old this week-end, but she says she's twenty; and I think I believe her LOL. I took the photo as she slept one afternoon and it got me wondering just what she might be dreaming of. Hence, this song....... hope you like it, M
Lyrics:
Only in DreamsWhen little girls sleep they have wonderful dreams.
Of beautiful places with sweets and ice cream,
Fairies and Angels and cute little gnomes,
Who live in the forest with mushrooms for homes.
Only in dreams, only in dreams.
They dream they can fly like the birds in the sky,
While fluffy white clouds, go sailing by.
When they come down after flying so high,
The King sometimes meets them, they’re not even shy,
All in their dreams, it’s all in their dreams.
Chorus.
But it’s all in their dreams,
It’s all real so it seems,
In a world full of rainbows and nursery rhyme themes,
The flowers can sing and Bluebells really ring,
Only in dreams, only in dreams.
Fairy princesses and castles so tall,
Butterflies, bluebirds and insects so small.
Little girls minds are always enthralled,
With magical things; they love them all.
But it’s all in their dreams,
It’s all real so it seems,
In a world full of rainbows and nursery rhyme themes,
The flowers can sing and Bluebells really ring,
Only in dreams, only in dreams.
Fairy princesses and castles so tall,
Butterflies, bluebirds and insects so small.
Little girls minds are always enthralled,
With magical things; they love them all.
But it’s all in their dreams, only in dreams.
But, nothing they dream of could ever compare,
With our feelings of love as we stand by the chair,
And watch as they sleep at the end of the day,
In innocence dreaming and tired out, tired out, with play.
Maurice Vizard.

Awesome song Moviz - cute and lovely. A very pleasant and relaxed atmosphere. You sing it so beautifully and the arrangement is very skillfully done - I like how you've chosen the electronic sounds; a fine performance, bravo!!!
Moviz
You have 'firsts' Andreas. Thanks so much, I'm really pleased that you liked this and the instruments too, regards M

Well sung. Such a light hearted song belongs in the loftier category of children's music not the mucky world of pop :)
Thanks
Bill
Moviz
I did think of putting it under Children's Music, but since it's a bout rather than for children I plumped for good old 'Pop'. Really pleased that you like it and thanks for the compliment, regards M

this is one of your best vocal performances to date - I think you could be a wee bit louder... but at least there are the lyrics to follow - I always love your poetic words. Very nicely done!

Moviz
thanks for the nice compliments.... most welcome. I did experiment by raising and lowering the vocal, until it was getting beyond me LOL, so I settled for the way it is now, cheers M

...I told myself that I'd never forget what it was like...
...very nicely captured, Maurice. Fits the picture to a "t"...
Moviz
Some think I'm still a child (and maybe I am LOL) but I do still remember what it was like too. Glad you approve, thanks so much, regards M

Very nostalgic tune.
Has a nice rich, early 60's style that Phil Spector would of been proud of. Before he went off the handle of course.
Moviz
for that nice comment; I went for that timeless retro sort of feel, apart from the synth sound of course, cheers M
regulus
always have been, always will be, great lines in prows with your poetry.
It all fits and works well with the arrangement, words on up to the picture as well. I hope some movie producer in the Never Ending Story genre finds this gem of yours.
Moviz
meet you Richard ( I was going to say 'Welcome to MJ', but I see you were here before me). Thank you for your complimentary comments Richard (fellow dreamer); so pleased you enjoyed the song, regards M

Moviz
I appreciate those kind words. It's no use me keeping a dream diary as i can't very often recall what i've been dreaming.... though they always seem real at the time. Thanks again, M

that backdrops singing, reminds me of the Lettermens etc. And the solo singing is indeed very pleasant to hear. Love the Christmasy sound that this has.
Again, I always feel like I am on vacation when I hear your sweet tunes. And it is a style that sounds heavenly and pleasant. A treat !
Kind of brings me back to Venus by Frankie Avalon. How I dearly loved that piece and still do. Thanks for keeping that style alive!
Moviz
try to listen to the Frankie Avalon thing Bill. Thanks for listening and for your always encouraging comments, regards M

...sincerity about the lyrics of this song, Maurice...and you sing it sweetly, too, like one who remembers even though very far removed from childhood. Proof that childhood can stay with us forever. Just a really beautiful song in every way. If you ever remix this, just jack up your vocals a tad so that they are easy to understand in every instance. ... Loved this little lullaby.
Peace.
Paul
