Hounds on the Hunt
The artwork reminds me of our former dog, our Beagle "Chico". But I guess he would just chase someone to be hugged :-)
Awesome performance, fantastic playing, excellent track, bravo!!

Can almost feel them chasing me
Good thing the police showed up just before they caught me:)

Cool playing, and impressive use of that slide at the same time as you play such fast finger picking.

I always know
I'm going to love what you play. Love this one especially for the racy-ness of the rhythm and the slide. Excellent fingerwork, really giving the atmosphere of the chase.... don't know how you do it....... talk about 'Hound-dog' LOL regards M

Hounds On The Hunt
LOL - I started playing this through my stereo speakers, and my dog started barking in response! Then the awesome slide guitar comes in - Bill you're just a wizard. As as been said already, I always know I'm going to love your song before I even play it. No exception here - thanks!

Amazing playing as usual, Bill
and cool fx, too. I can almost see you, wearing the stripes and running through the trees. Oops, the dogs are closing in. Where's the river when you need it?? Oh, well, back to the chain gang.

Sliding into home plate
Masterful finger-pickin' from you, as always! I'm not sure I've heard you play slide before... sounds great! I'm curious: do you record the slide stuff separately from the finger pickin' stuff, or do you do it all at once? Very cool, however you do it!

I did a little change to the reverberation at the end though.

Thanks for stopping by.

Bill, this is really great. I don't know how you do it. Clean mix, spectacular playing. Great theme artfully pulled off. Another Tiler hit!

You're getting a great sound on this, Bill...
Very natural and woody, with a rich reverb that isn't too much...Nice brass in the strings, but not so much that it becomes more metallic than musical...

Well, okay, maybe a tad less reverb and demonic panning on the dog...

Did you aim the condenser more toward either ear?

Actually, I think you really neat to use multiple loops/samples of more than one hound to get this thing where it needs to be...

Maybe you need to contact Dogs On Demand...

Barking Up The Right Tree
Great job on this, Bill. Remarkable combination of slide and finger-picking techniques. Is this something influenced by your time in Nashville?

Very cool composition. ;)

Thanks JA
I think it is more something that made me want to go to Nashville and that was the fingerstyle guitar craftmanship they have there. But I think I loved the era a bit earlier than the new country is now. Because the older country seem to have the percussion at an even keel. As opposed to the way out of pro-proportion drumming in the new country.

But that is not always easy to master percussion that is for sure.

Thanks again.

this scared my cat
thanks a lot....i am bleeding heavily from the scratches....

wow tiler, this is really great....nice intonation on the slide. sounds fat and sweet thru my speakers....

i think maybe a bit too much barking, but other than that, perfection on 6 strings.

deep bows my man!!!

Great playing ..
.. as usual Bill.

I have to say that barking dogs are the bane of my existence, so the fx did worse than nothing for me I'm afraid. We have dogs running loose here which chase the wild animals (kangaroos mostly) and cause significant harm. Every time I hear a dog barking it reminds me that some wild animal is being harassed and possibly injured or killed. Sorry dog lovers!

Having got that off my chest, I love the way you play - the confidence and accuracy in particular. Production - lose the dogs - is great.

The dogs do it for me
I listened to the new version first, and while I like it a lot, this one sets the Mississippi Delta theme much better.

Both are great tracks Bill, but this is more real to the area.
