Description

This is a recent mix with elements that may not come across very musical or 'proper', hence the genre 'experimental'.

I don't know where it fits into music, if at all. It may be 7 minutes of pure todge but I hope that someone will let me know what they think about the different aspects of the piece.

I'm also up for removing the piece if it is too diverse or unrepresentative of even experimental music.

	Sounds I like the parts where there is only "bass" " drums" and sounds . I find the chords are less interesting . Just the sounds and backing together would be "experimental" or "ambient" or "noise" . Check out my latest song called HyperKineziK 1/1

...this may be, Paul, but it is the best todge I've heard. You know your way around your sounds, that's for sure...every one carefully chosen and carefully placed. As for music, you raise an interesting question about the essence of music -- of what is it comprised -- what, in fact, is it? Given the appropriate pictures/programme, this composition is just as much "music" as a ballroom waltz. You may not be getting a lot of folks listening or commenting, but please don't get discouraged. You are recording some sui generis compositions that are intriguing, inventive, and compelling.

Hi Paul....
Your comments made me laugh out loud!! They were exactly what the mix had coming to it. I hadn't thought of the mix as decent todge, just todge. Your words give me hope for some of my more adventurous pieces.

Maybe I'll just upload one of these per year!!! Ha ha!!!

The main reason that I uploaded it was that the arrangement and sound were not that bad, just the content!! The silences between the notes/noise were perfect, and I do hope that people remember the silence. It's the silence that makes the piece stand out, or at least the gaps between the notes that are heard.

That's part of my answer to your question of what music is. Another part of what music is has something to do with how the listener is emotionally, whilst they listen. This has a profound effect upon the way a piece is interpreted and may evoke memories that are good or bad. The music does not contain the memories, it is just a trigger or catalyst. The music just 'is'. Open to any listeners interpretation of the moment.
