Description
Last summer I went to Vancouver to visit a friend and he does cool ambient/noise stuff. It kind of inspired me so I ended up spending some time playing with his toys. This is the end result....almost 34min 20 tracks of swirling changing noisescapes. Oddly relaxing with headphones but it IS long so you could doze off....and who knows what kind of damage could be done to your subconscious then.

Play-by-Play Feedback!
I'm going to copy/paste a conversation I was having over AIM with my friend. Well, it turned out to be pretty one-way...

Jaskaad (6:37:03 PM): Somehow I just got caught listening to this half-hour-long ambient noise track on MacJams. I swear, I was sittin' there looking at it and decided to check out the first few seconds to hear what this guy was actually about... and I'm eight minutes in. The sound seems to have changed not one bit... but for some shocking reason, I am here, hypnotized.

Perfectchaos117 (6:37:32 PM): I'm reminded of a song someone did awhile ago
Perfectchaos117 (6:37:47 PM): It was made to be bad, had no redeeming qualities or notes to it

Jaskaad (6:38:02 PM): Huh...
Jaskaad (6:38:18 PM): I'm downloading it now. Heheh.
Jaskaad (6:40:36 PM): It's pretty relaxing, even though the sound reminds me of a subway with a pipe organ and a bunch of collapsing spheres of matter.

Perfectchaos117 (6:40:46 PM): Niiiiiice

Jaskaad (6:44:32 PM): Y'know, this is good concentration music.

Perfectchaos117 (6:44:40 PM): Oh

Jaskaad (6:45:55 PM): I can sit here and forget I'm listening to it... and go off writing or chatting happily, but with this heightened awareness that only exists in my subconscious. So I warp back to reality and realize... that the song is still the same disturbingly consistent drone... Maybe there's a few more sounds than before. Like chanting or something. I'm not sure.
Jaskaad (6:47:42 PM): GAHAHAHAAA!!! I got a reply on my song!!

Perfectchaos117 (6:47:46 PM): WHOO!

Jaskaad (6:49:01 PM): Anyway, yeah... Thirteen minutes left, and I'm wondering if it'll change even more. Actually, I'm scared to go back to the beginning and listen... and realize that it was like TOTALLY different.
Jaskaad (6:49:25 PM): Psychologocal impact of this thing. Sheesh.

Perfectchaos117 (6:49:34 PM): Sounds like an interestin' song

Jaskaad (6:53:13 PM): Now that it's approaching the end, I'm becoming more conscious of it %u2013 expecting something.
Jaskaad (6:56:44 PM): Five minutes left...
Jaskaad (6:57:54 PM): Sometimes I'm sensing little niches in the groove, like the song is faltering somehow. Like it's dying...
Jaskaad (6:59:25 PM): And I'm using elipses because that's how the song makes me feel... Nothing is really certain.
Jaskaad (6:59:44 PM): I cannot help it. XD

Perfectchaos117 (6:59:49 PM): It is fine
Jaskaad (7:01:12 PM): Anything in the last minute? Anything?
Jaskaad (7:01:45 PM): GEH!! It's dying!
Jaskaad (7:01:52 PM): I hear freakin' screams from the ether!
Jaskaad (7:01:56 PM): OMG
Jaskaad (7:02:13 PM): Well, that was a fun, creeeeepy and surreal experience. Excellent.

Needless to say, great work.

Wow....
Thanx for that...I got a kick outta reading that...and it kinda sums up the piece quite nicely. You totally experienced what I'm talking about. It's not something you're likely to consciously sit there and listen to but itis great for background music or perhaps meditation, sensory deprivation or astral projection..k I'm reaching now.
Thanks for listening and sharing you musings...that was awesome.

A trip.
Wow. When it ended there was this huge disorienting void. Neat effect.

Just a guy with a laptop and a bunch of other toys. I make attempts to play guitar, bass(like a guitar player) and dabble in keyboards and other noise-makers. Sometimes I do vocals as well. Basically I use whatever gets the job done I love my meta... [see more]
