Description
This was written at one of those moments of existential crisis and despair that we all know and love. And if not, take heart, you're better adjusted most likely than I am.
And yes it's about a girl. Aren't most sad songs?

Lyrics
I can't take back the things I've said.
you can't erase the scars inside my head
and how many times I've re-read
the words she wrote to me.

In the end, there is no glory
no fairy tale, no love story,
just this cold concrete world
filled with broken dreams

though you forget them through the years
and make due as best you can
it's never quite the same
but there's always the blame

she doesn't come around anymore
I don't even know what I said
words ring empty in my head
where everything is grey

cold stone of granite cliffs
bulldozed under concrete nightmares
buried just below my feet
this road's a one way dead end street

and I can feel the tears coming
but you won't find me begging
I'm no white knight
and I can't be her everything.

this is no fairy tale
there's no castle atop that hill
Only a way out
that I won't take.

Sad Songs Have No Chorus
Awww I hear your pain and this is your soul crying out. I certainly hear you in this very emotional sad song and I hope the crises was soon over and the scars healed over. Loved the title and thought, it very apt and sounded very good just as you would sing if you felt that sad. Nice one
If you know what I mean. Very good lyrics also.

Peace Dee.

no doubt
Thank you so much for the kind words. Well, sadly, the crisis is still going on, although now it's more of a fading echo of a one-sided affair of the heart. The opposite of love is not hate; it is apathy. Thank you very much for the kind words. This was the more constructive avenue for what I was feeling, so I opted to go this way, but it still hurts like hell. I'll be cool though. Nietzsche was right about what doesn't kill you- it makes you stronger and maybe helps a song come out! :)

Sad songs
wouldn't get written if we could just manage to find someone who loved us as we loved them. I agree that the opposite of love is not hate and that it is apathy an apathy born of fear. Some fear to love, thinking that becoming vulnerable will diminish them. Those that give their hearts know that their love magnifies them even if it is not reflected back. I understand. Thank you for sharing something so personal.

And .....
.. here I thought I had the sad love song market cornered .... this would benefit from a little (hiss and hum removal) ... but I see you made reference to that in one of your other tunes .... so you have likely started to figure out some recording techniques .... very heartfeltedly sung.

Radio Rebelde is basically just me. I record and perform under the name Long Way Down. I'm pretty much a well intentioned guy who just wants to make noise that either makes you happy to hear it or writes tunes for people to be like all right, it's ... [see more]
