Description:
This is another tune from my 2004 session.
I wrote a song, that you can hear at the tail end of this. And the intro turned out to be much, much better that the actual song.
If any of you want to use this as an intro or something else, please feel free to ask.
I'm going to post a few more from my little 2004 Pro Tools session.
Very short- 0:59

wow dave. really warm and beautiful. makes a great intro for sure. is this a mic'd acoustic or one with a pickup?
lavalamp
In answer to your question we mic'd them. I just can't do it as well here on my system. So, I use my electric acoustic now. But, I'm not really satisfied with it. Mic'd is always better with acoustic.
Thanks Ridd,
Dave
Beautiful intro David! But how dare you rob us of the pleasure of hearing the whole song! What gives? Ha ha...
Excellent guitar work. Pretty and moody. Quality recording as well.
Now I sit and wonder what the rest of the song sounds like!
Be well my friend!
lavalamp
I don't have the master to this one. The vocals are just embarrassing and I couldn't post it.
Just thought that you'd like to here this cool little intro. Just for fun.
You didn't miss anything.
Dave
I let you slide this time man!
Peace!
MarkHolbrook
The intro guitar work is really great Dave!
lavalamp
Thanks Mark. I should practice nowadays, you know?
LL

Dave, I thought about trying to make something with this so I imported it into logic but it seems to be slightly detuned from the few midi notes I played. What key is it in? (tone deaf here I think!)
Skean
But very sweet playing here my friend... Cool intro to a ROCK tune or something else.. Cheers
lavalamp
Short. I really posted it to see if anyone would want to use it. I'd hate to see it wasted.
Dave
Skean
I totally agree w u... I hope you get any takers on it as well.
Take care

crystal sound pickin here my friend it gives the
heartfelt feeling to this all ...wish to hear the
whole song ...it sounds a true classic ...thnx alot
for sharin adn will be looking to the whole session
of that 2004 !!!!
lavalamp
You don't want to hear the rest. I gave nothing to the vocals and it sounds awful (the singing). But, the song is actually not bad.
Any tips on getting 3/4 beats?
LL
regulus
clear and clean. What type of guitar where you using?
lavalamp
I'm just using a $99 Yamaha acoustic bought in 1986 and a cheap no name bass.
Maybe it's in the strings.
Thanks,
LL
Marastique
.....so where's the song :)
Looking forward to where this goes Dave.
lavalamp
wanted this not to go to waste. Maybe, someone could use it.
Thanks,
LL

I did this at a buddy's house on Pro Tools. I have the same problem when I record acoustic on GB. I use an eletric acoustic now. Not too satisfied.
Thanks,
LL

Great intro - super recording and I liked what I heard of the song!
Peter
lavalamp
Glad you liked it. Stop by anytime.
Dave
Vic Holman
it could work in a song verse as well.
what brand of acoustic is this anyhow? it has a nice tone.
lavalamp
The guitar is just a $99 Yamaha and a no name bass I bought for €50 over hear. Must be the strings, as I mentioned before.
Thanks,
Dave
spitlogic
Pretty good playing. You have great control over those strings, but it ended way too soon.
lavalamp
I mentioned in the description why this is the way it is. I was just putting it out there.
But, thanks,
Dave

I'm with Michael Wark in wanting to hear the rest of the song. From the few seconds we hear, I think it sounds great.
How about you redo the song and get the vocals the way you want them? I hear a cool tune coming out of this and think it deserves a little more love from you!
lavalamp
Just wanted to post something that someone might want to use. I have a lot in store for the Fall. You don't want to hear the rest. The song is good, but the singing is just dreadful.
I would easily redo this song, but it's a bitch to do 3/4 songs. Any tips regarding the beats?
Dave
Lennon714
started on the 3/4 issue. Did apple think we'd only want 4/4?
I've been building my own beats lately, but they're not any good. I'm working with with MJ artist Somebuddy and he's got a lot of 3/4 stuff. We're in the middle of doing beats for that and it's a pain.
Another good reason to buy Drums on Demand.
magnatone
nice one dave! This is really gorgeous - mic'd, electric acoustic - it all sounds good to me. So uh - why don't YOU write a new song to go with this fab intro? Come on Mr. Lamp - you can do it!
lavalamp
I just had this nice intro, that I thought you would might enjoy. But, there was no genre for incomplete song or intros.
Thanks Karen,
Dave
Rebsie
That is a really sweet intro. :)
lavalamp
I thought you might like that.
Dave
Lizard*Whistle
Tantalising glimpse of the song at the end! We're all intrigued now.
lavalamp
I have heard plenty of adjectives to describe my music, but tantalizing I have never heard. Thanks.
I'll be putting up a whole song next. Just running it by you.
LL
guitapick
...and sweet. Looking forward to future developments, David. Generous of you to put it out there...
lavalamp
But, glad you enjoyed it. Just a little taste.
LL
ic42
it is a beautiful melody, it rocks like the waves. the playing is sweetness. it is an irony to fade on "i sit and wonder". 0x0
lavalamp
The song (the singing) falls to pieces right after that, so that explains the timing.
Thanks a bunch for the compliment.
LL
The world may need more music, but it also needs more lavalamps, too.

Very cool intro Some nice relaxing picking! excellent
lavalamp
Appreciate the kind words.
