Description
I've had this beat for a while. I finally wrote something to it for a benefit I performed at this month. The benefit was entitled "Art Restores" and all donations went to Rape Victims Advocates (RVA), a great organization that reaches out to survivors of sexual assualt. Basically tons of bands, groups, artists, etc, showed their stuff at a coffee shop on Chicago's west side. So this song was written specifically for this event ("I had a vision there was no need for this benefit. . ."). Anywaysss, I have a little free time so I thought I'd record it and post it and see what you folks thought. Any feedback is greatly welcome. Be nice, be harsh, but most importantly, be honest.
Thanks for checking this one out.

Lyrics
I had a vision, fleeting
sitting at this promontary point position, living, breathing
the skyline, it spoke me in feelings
it said, "Stop listening, but start hearing"
I was confused but then conscious of my mind clearing
vision nearing, like the waves approach my feet
I had a vision that one day it would be safe for anyone to walk down any street
that stickup kids were fairytales and fairytales were real life
wouldn't that be nice?
that happily ever after really happened
that while I was rapping this whole world transformed just like it was magic
that tragic was a word that lost its meaning
that we forgot about race and remembered
we are all human beings
I had a vision, this one's really relevant
I had a vision there was no need for this benefit
I had a vision that war didn't exist
and that Iraq wasn't a quagmire, just another nice place to visit
I had a vision, dreams are unwritten
but it spoke to me
hopefully to put some hope in me to not live hopelessly
I struggle between how things are
and how they're supposed to be
but thats relative, so I guess its just supposedly
holding these thoughts in my lungs
I exhale and let the rhythm take hold of me
I had a vision no one had to live homelessly
that popular music wasn't pop, that it was poetry
I had a vision and it spoke to me. . .
that we could grow wiser without the mistakes
that we could grow stronger without the heartbreak
that we could change the world with the art that we make
we can change the world with the art that we make.

Like those lyrics. You need to post them man. The beat is nice. I see you use iDrum for you sequencer. Was it worth the purchase? How is it working for you?
