Description:
Recently I had been talking to both DJ French Toast and Spitlogic separately about possibly collaborating. When Toast posted this beat (http://macjams.com/song/45542) I was immediately inspired to drop on it. I threw down a verse and sent it Spits way. He dropped his verse, added some sweet cuts and samples, and then sent it to Toast, who added another verse and mixed it down. This is the final product. They were gracious enough to let me post this one, but please leave feedback for them here as well. After all, I just dropped a verse, they did the rest.

Cool music and the lyrics are brilliant. All different styles but they mix really well on the track. All really well written. Well done Guys, love the intelligent hip hop.
ElPeruano
I'd like to think that we offer an alternative to the mindless music you can hear on the radio nowadays. I'm glad you appreciate it.
Diviner
but better then you can get on the radio. The radio plays commercial crap that as you said is mindless. The tracks you, Spitlogic and French Toast have done as well as this one are much better, it has humour and makes you think. Cool combo.

i was gonna get down on this with you guys... i wrote a verse and was just finishing up, but it's all good i'll have to get down on the next one. It's dope to see a collaboration of the macjams MCs, i like the scratchin and the mix, definitely different styles like diviner said but all nicely done, spit had sent me his lyrics, it was nice to see how well they came out, nice delivery on yours and frenchy's flow as well, right on brotha
spitlogic
Sir your time is coming.
Konscious
i mean i did already make a song to the beat hehe

Nice beats, and a lovely combination of rapping styles. I really like the repeating riff on the music and the choral vocal sound works well. Has a kind of Cypress Hill vibe going on. Great rhymes, terrific performances, and like I say, it all gels sweetly. Very cool. Nicely done to all involved. Peace.
ElPeruano
yea i definitely agree on the cypress hill feel to the beat. trippy shit. props to french. thanks for the kind words.
Dj French Toast
Was fun !
ElPeruano

spitlogic

I dig the words a ton. The groove is less than hip, tho. Some cool ideas, but in my ears falls kind of flat, perhaps becuz its lack of edges and electronica sound. The backing music has this interesting middle eastern feel but doesn't connect with with the words to me - except the last line about the breeze.
Dj French Toast
Why dont you go over to the original beat and lets hear you lay some raps down on it . Lets hear you freestyle a few bars.Id like to hear your vision . : )
ElPeruano
I appreciate the honest feedback. glad you enjoyed the lyrics!
lengold
to the original raw beats - which I loved just on it's own.
The three of you have created a delight to listen to. Superb.
Cheers

that hasn't already been said here? props on the skills to all three of you. I'm just now exploring the many great artists here at MJ. Top notch flow, production, and concept on this one! Defy the norm isn't just a motto, its a way of life; you all nailed that here.
ElPeruano
thanks man. glad to hear it doesn't sound like everything else. hopefully there will be more where this came from. ill be eagerly awaiting your next one!
