Description
I'm finally putting up a full song. It's rather long, but I hope you don't notice that.

This one has been sitting around for about a year and half. I had some time last weekend to finally finish it up.

It's about the duality of man and how he may never be satisfied with his material things, his religion, nor his position or place on this earth. ohhhh deep!

No, Like any of my songs. I have no idea what it is about.

Hope this song entertains you. (The second half rocks out. Hang in there.)

Lyrics
I Want More

Raining, there may be trouble up ahead
Silence, don't you remember what I've said
You're like an angel, falling down from grace
Remember you're so pretty, when I saw your face

I feel so special
Like I never felt before

But, I want more

Hollow, seems to be the way I am
Shallow, I am not such a man
Without you, I don't stand a chance
Alone now, left me here in a trance

I feel so special
Like I never felt before

But, I want more

And I want more than I need
I'm selling harmony
For a one time stolen dream
When I look back all I see
Is a ceiling in the clouds
In a lonesome broken barn
On a sea lion on a hook
With Gideon's mighty book
About a young man with a plan
To save the fate of all man
That he spent and pissed away
But, he wants another day
He wants another day; he wants another day..........

I really like
the line "on a sea lion on a hook". A lot of imagery. I won't pretend to have a big artistic idea with it. I just love the way it sounds and the idea it invokes. It's probably a metaphor for the war on the poor or something, but I'm slow to get that stuff.

Good one
Inspiring text, music, mix. Got to download for further listenings (it's late here and I can't crank up the volume like I'd want to :-( In fact, it's only a quater to "another day"...

Thanks for sharing!

OK, officaly cranked ;-)
And it didn't loose anything by it, even if I guess the lyrics could stand some serious meditation if you're in the mood for it. Well done! And thanks again! /H

This is
fantastic. I love it. It hooked me from the eerie opening, and by the time it reached its epic ending, I was captivated. The lyrics are very nicely done - thought-provoking and very well crafted. Lovely images ("a ceiling in the clouds" - a truly memorable phrase) and great vocal performance. There is tremendous feeling here. You never fail to disappoint, but this is one of your best. Very, very cool. Kudos, my friend. Peace.

I don't know
I thought this one would generate more of a buzz, but it's been kind of luke warm. Maybe, I posted it at the wrong time.

I guess it's one of my better songs, which I wanted to get right before posting.

I'm really glad you liked it and always glad to see you around.

things just have to wait for the right moment to come together and out of the man cave. Contemplaintive lyrics on mans inner soul

This came together wonderfully Dave.

The right song, but maybe the wrong moment.

You know how the Beatles made it.......timing, timing, timing.

Thanks, as always, Vic. Hope you dug it a lot.

I struggled with the mixing a bit and the opening lines, but I think it turned out very well.

Thanks for your support, brother.

Finally, a chance to comment...
As one who has at long last found some clarity, I feel lost and unattached in this post-modern climate, wherein folks like myself are just written off as ignorant, arrogant "fanatics." Ha ha...Where'd THAT come from? Anyway, it is NOT a criticism of your song.

I don't know what you're talking about either! But the lyrics are well written. Good poetry! very evocative...

When the rocking half off the song kicks-in your vocal becomes most excellent!

I thoroughly enjoyed this tune....and I DON'T think it is "too long."

Be well friend!

I actually think
I know what it may be about. Possibly, that we have a spark within us to do great things, but, to our own minds, we let life get in the way. It is easy to get distracted and easy to be lazy. It is difficult to take risks for great rewards. You have some lovely wording, such as "angel falling down from grace" and "ceiling in the clouds" and some obscure words that require thought. I like the changes which kept it interesting. I liked it very much. Thank you. :)

I really appreciate the fact that you "listened" to the lyrics. Not much attention is paid to that aspect of music these days.

Words just come from the mind. Best not think too hard when writing.

Thanks,

Dave

I always ....
... read the lyrics as well because as great as a tune might sound ... its the words that have the most meaning for me ... I liked these ! It is the words that will impact on a song and make people listen to it over and over in the end ..... nicely done! I did also like the melody of the tune itself ....
