Description:
Generally formatted with lots of room for inspiration, aka noodling.

4 guitar tracks, two midikeys tracks at the apex for dramatic effect.

I don't expect anyone to like it! It's perfect napping music!

Smooth and easy on the ears &mdash 08/29/08 - 04:22:02 PM
Great music for contemplating your navel, or whenever you want to sit and meditate. Great for trying to get inside your own head and listen to the voices there.

Very well put together Doug, and like you said, there's lots of room to take this on any direction you might want to. I noticed that at times the one of the guitars sounded like a Japanese or Chinese Gong, very cool.

Thanks for sharing this one my friend,

Ed

Cool Ambience- &mdash 08/29/08 - 05:57:16 PM
Nice track Doug! Just past the 1/2 way point I heard what sounded like a group of kids cheering- was it FX or ?

Nicely done!

Yeah Mikey &mdash 08/30/08 - 06:19:12 PM
I added children cheering and a synth bass for that part. There was a guitar sound that reminded me of laughter, so I added cheering thinking it appropriate.

The conclusion is dark and the only use of minors in the whole thing!

Thanks Man! &mdash 08/30/08 - 06:27:31 PM
This is the point when the whole tune settles. It has built to this plateau then becomes uncertain and drifts away....

I too like &mdash 08/29/08 - 09:55:32 PM
the "dullness" or rather nothingness... Frankly it kept me listening for something new to happen...

I have no idea how you people do this stuff! It's so cool but without a beat blaring away I'm lost! Still love to listen though!

I believe this is what &mdash 08/30/08 - 04:40:19 AM
you could call this a Tone Poem or such like,I am not sure whether you are supposed to like this type of thing outright they will either grow on you or not.So let's give it a chance eh?

Dull it isn't,and it is very well executed. Some nice Indian/Asian influences and a touch of sitar sound coool.

My spouse, Marily's mom is in the hospital. I'll be back soon!

Definitely not the worst Doug &mdash 08/31/08 - 12:31:42 AM
Relaxing and very mediative. I like that you've used the virtual and actual instruments together to develop this soundscape. - maybe a cinematic soundtrack? I saw a show on Leonard Cohen last night, and it put me in mind of his Zen Buddhist stage. I'm not a big Cohen fan, but with the extended Wainwright family and a few others (including Nick Cave, Beth Orton, Teddy Thompson and Jarvis Cocker) interpreting his work, I found it very interesting. This track would have fit right into the documentary in many ways.

Very nice - the fuzz reminded me of falling water all the way through.

I hope Marily's mom is OK.

Cheers,
Neil

Dude &mdash 08/31/08 - 05:30:49 PM
Sorry to disappoint, but I DO like it! In fact, I like it a lot. This is far from noodling. There is an ambience and character here that keeps it coherent and moving forward. I'm working on something at the moment that's very up front and straight ahead, and this was great to listen to in the midst of that. Very cool. Downloaded and added to my ambient playlist. Nice one. Hope your mother-in-law is okay, my friend. Peace.

Napping music? I was listening with rapt attention! And then suddenly it was half an hour later. Where does the time go when you're having fun....

Seriously, really cool sound spinning here.

Aliens! &mdash 09/18/08 - 08:28:01 AM
Starts like Dead space, a in Grateful -- as in their Twilight Zone soundtrack music. Or the next Aliens movie sequel. Oozing, eletronic lizards lurk, the wind blows... Makes me want to break out the old Alesis microverb...
