winding of a spring &mdash 08/30/08 - 10:19:41 PM
it is interesting to listen to maru many times, i get dizzy. it is a folding of notes inside themselves. musical origami. another great talented musician visits me. i am very quiet for no words. thank you. i shall enjoy your music now. 0x0 [ Reply to This ]

You touch me. The child within me delights in the sounds. The elder that I am, well she is grateful for talent such as yours. I want to listen for hours, not minutes. Your work is intriguing. And, addictive, I might add.
THANK YOU. [ Reply to This ]
simply complicated char &mdash 08/30/08 - 10:23:17 PM
a child can enjoy the simplicity. a woman can enjoy the complexity. you can enjoy both. it is a delight to have you listen. if it is addictive music, i must make another one for you? it is an excitement to make more music now. thank you for the excitement. 0x0 [ Reply to This ]
Interesting piece... &mdash 08/30/08 - 10:50:01 PM
it will be longer &mdash 08/31/08 - 10:15:33 AM
however, it will take long to make it long. if you say it is a good start, then i will add interest in a new center part. perhaps new voices. thank you for thoughtful listening. i enjoy music from lunatrick. it is time to return to you. 0x0 [ Reply to This ]
Wins my ear .... &mdash 08/31/08 - 01:28:17 PM
.. reminds me a little of when people play with their crystal champagne glasses and run their finger around the rim and that high sound is emitted .... a sound I quite enjoy hearing ! [ Reply to This ]
alannah resonates &mdash 08/31/08 - 03:19:58 PM
it took much time to create the resonating sound. you compare it to a ringing crystal glass. it is a surprise observation, however your ear is true. it is a nice comparison. it makes me happy to intoxicate you with music. "kanpai!" (a japanese toast, it means bottom's up, or cheers). 0x0 [ Reply to This ]
round and round &mdash 08/31/08 - 08:06:13 PM
and each note perfectly placed. I listened 5 times, of course, then I downloaded it so I can keep hearing it. Simple, yet something going on behind the scenes. Ambient Elegance...:-) [ Reply to This ]
ambient scenes &mdash 08/31/08 - 08:55:01 PM
it is always going on behind the scenes. it is music, and it must be created. it is good to know that this creation is something you enjoy and keep with you. i will make more. thank you. 0x0 [ Reply to This ]
Hip To Be Round &mdash 09/01/08 - 08:51:07 AM
Another beautiful composition, icey.
Although gold is recognized as the best, your music sounds more silver to me, but still first to cross the line.

crossing lines &mdash 09/01/08 - 11:28:39 AM
in this life, i always cross lines. it creates trouble, however it is not an intent to do a wrong thing. it is a hope this silver line is a good line to cross. there are many good lines in a life to cross. i wish to do many before it is time to cross the last line. thank you for a great friendship on the journey. i must now make a line to your new music. 0x0 [ Reply to This ]

I meant to express that your composition was a winner to me. First place is a Silver medal in this race. You win.

another line &mdash 09/01/08 - 09:37:28 PM
i understand now. a finish line is a good line to cross. it is not worthy of a silver medal. however, your words excite me to work on it again. perhaps it can be better. i will try. 0x0 [ Reply to This ]

Circulos &mdash 09/01/08 - 06:47:57 PM
An unhurried progression from simplicity toward beautiful complexity. Take us further down the path. I am intrigued by your "innumerable subroutines." Tell us more about how you programmed this. [ Reply to This ]
rschletty &mdash 09/02/08 - 06:21:00 PM
a goal of this was to move from simple to complex. you desire enumeration of innumerable? i will attempt it. 4 measures of chords automatically generated. next, chords broken into separate notes on new staff. next, for each staff, repeat 4 measures, and break notes in new measures in half (1/2 note break into 2 1/4 notes.) repeat, creating 1/8 notes for next measures. next, offset each staff by 2 measures from each other. that is automatic. then i manually fix some notes. then i add an ending. it is interesting work. it is good to know you are interested in more. thank you for the question. i will attempt to make more circles here. 0x0 [ Reply to This ]
Enumeration &mdash 09/02/08 - 10:51:55 PM
Thank you! That gives me an idea of the math behind the beauty. I suppose it can be compared to geometric progressions and sequences in nature -- like spiral galaxies, ocean waves, electromagnetic emanations and sea shells. [ Reply to This ]
Short and sweet &mdash 09/01/08 - 06:48:12 PM
I find this concept really interesting - a "round" or circle if you like. Each of the parts has its own personality. I agree that this could be expanded in a choral context. I wonder why 5 circles seems to be the limit.
Have you listened to dirigent at MJ? He does some really interesting things with these types of things in a choral (albeit culturally specific) context.
Thanks, I enjoyed this,

jiguma and dirigent &mdash 09/02/08 - 06:26:53 PM
yes i have heard dirigent sing. he is extremely gifted singer. it is also an honour to have you listen to this. you write and sing and play so skillfully. at 5 circles, it became to complex sounding. it was too much after that. if i changed to a different style in the middle, then repeat, perhaps it will be ok longer. i have thought to try this. it is the next experiment. many thanks for an interest in this work. 0x0 [ Reply to This ]

Sub Routines &mdash 09/03/08 - 11:12:50 AM
I thought that was a little performance that a submarine did. Innumerable Sub Routines tells me the coach or captain is relentless and over works his subs.
Hmmm.... I'll have to rethink this one.

joy of words &mdash 09/03/08 - 12:01:14 PM
it is a deep dive. you drill down to play with the sub routines of the sub marines. a captain thinks it is all water under the bridge. i must run silent and deep. it is fun to play with words. and music. and friends. thank you. 0x0 [ Reply to This ]

it is difficult to go longer. it is time to increase my skill. however, if you enjoy the music and "asian vibe", then it is time to learn more. i will make this longer, and learn. first, i must learn of your music. it is time to visit. thank you. 0x0 [ Reply to This ]

it is beauty in words &mdash 09/09/08 - 05:35:23 PM
it captures my music. it is an attempt to distill beauty from complexity. it is not simple to create. however, the result is worthwhile if someone is listening. thank you for listening. 0x0 [ Reply to This ]
I give all fives for this one! &mdash 09/09/08 - 08:25:39 PM
I think it feels like a round, or maybe a fugue.
What are the harmony and resolution rules used here? Is it classical counterpoint, or something else? It sounds classical.
I would love to try my hand at creating a different instrumentation and vocals, but keeping each and every note as they are here.
I wish it was in 5/4 time, but that's OK.

it is a round &mdash 09/10/08 - 03:59:47 PM
it is a simple melody, however difficult to create correctly. it is a melody to offset and create internal harmony. after 5 circles, the melody must become more complex, to offset boredom. it is a success? to be interested in extending this is exciting. a note will be sent to you. thank you for an interest in this piece. 0x0 [ Reply to This ]

Good use of counterpoint. &mdash 09/26/08 - 05:57:45 PM
The various lines harmonize each other perfectly. It is almost like an alternate version of something like Pachelbel's canon. [ Reply to This ]
it is a good point &mdash 09/26/08 - 08:00:16 PM
there is no point to music without counterpoint. it is a flattering comparison to pachelbel. often the computer generates uncomfortable chord progressions for my music. this music is different. it was time for me to choose. creating a canon with a simple melody was enjoyable. there is not much variation. perhaps in the next version. thank you for a thoughtful comment. 0x0 [ Reply to This ]
