Description
This is an old 4-track recording that I'm posting for a bit of fun. It's an environmental song that I wrote for a Renaissance festival many years ago - and I laid down multiple tracks with recorders, mandolins, tamborines, etc. I tried to clean it up - but the production is still a touch shoddy. My harmonies are not up to Dirigent standards - or the sumptuous folk recordings of Rebsie. Enjoy nonetheless!

Lyrics
Under Tree
Under tree where squirrels are dining
There I sit and think only of you
High above the birds are all chiming
Fluted sighs, their love songs anew
Golden deer now subtly darting
Out of my view and into the morn
Beast and man, our day’s just a starting
Sun now aloft, the canopies warm.
But to my heart sadness is ringing
Dying earth, oh what have we done?
For we are to our bad ways a clinging
Mother dear, we destroy you for fun
What to do, a penchant for mending
What to say, I’m your guilty son
How to speak, a message for sending
How to win, win everyone
Under tree, I’m composing a new
Nature dear, a new love song for you
Under tree where squirrels are dining
There I sit and think only of you
High above the birds are all chiming
Fluted sighs, their love songs anew
Golden deer now subtly darting
Out of my view and into the morn
Beast and man, our day’s just a starting
Sun now aloft, the canopies warm.
But to my heart sadness is ringing
Dying earth, oh what have we done?
For we are to our bad ways a clinging
Mother dear, we destroy you for fun
What to do, a penchant for mending
What to say, I’m your guilty son
How to speak, a message for sending
How to win, win everyone
Under tree, I’m composing a new
Nature dear, a new love song for you
