I like it... your main theme has an upbeat Copland-esque style, that does bring up imagery of the pioneers. The sudden discovery of native Americans in the middle is pretty obvious too, although not quite as mournfully "Indian"-sounding as I think it could be. The build to the climax with key-changes and added brass was nice and satisfying.
