Description
This mix is basically a soundscape using disparate sound sources and all of them are intermixed using LFO's to trigger the timing and period of play of these sounds.

The idea for the piece was of a time when many cultures lived together and so many languages were used in any local setting, and this is accepted and adds the richness of everyday life.

The piece has musical content but has other content so I've labelled it 'Experimental'.

As always, let me know what you think. I don't think that I'll be doing very many of these unless I use them to add some normal music on top of.

Hi Kenta.....
I'm very happy that you like this type of mix.

It's definitely an experiment. I need to put more actual music content in any others that I mix.

Thanks for listening.

Take care.

Hi Daniel.....
The components of this piece are from a free version of a new synth and this free version has the overlaid voices. The registered version has the voices removed. I couldn't resist tweaking the synth settings, turning the record button on and letting the piece evolve!!

Glad you listened and left your comments.

Take care.

wow
i was just looking at a synth i wanted to try the demo of, and it has 4 seconds of silence every 30 seconds. i was just thinking last night that i should try it out and just incorporate the silence into the composition. that's really neat that you worked the voices in, never would have known that they were there to prevent you from really using the synth. cool.

Hi Michael.......
I had tried the same sort of thing with an earlier mix, using the free version of Gladiator, a great sounding synth, and the overlaid voices added 'goosebumps' to the piece so I left them in.

This piece, with the voices, seemed good enough for an effect so again I left them in.

The synth in this piece was The Dream Machine, from http://www.hgf-synthesizer.de/ . It's available as a registered version now.

Take care.

I enjoy creating music using computers and 'synthesized' as opposed to 'real' instruments. I have no problem using samples/loops in my music. Everyone does this every time they work with a track. I don't fit in any box and thoroughly enjoy working ou... [see more]

Experimental music is any music that challenges the commonly accepted notions of what music is. There is an overlap with avant-garde music. John Cage was a pioneer in experimental music and defined and gave credibility to the form. As with other edge
