Sometimes it is hard to say goodbye...

This is special to me. This is my first song that I made completely loop-free. This is all MIDI VST software rendered.

Marshall - this is VERY COOL! So glad to have met you on chat, so I can start to hear your music. I love these bell sounds - gorgeous ambient feel - this is terrific!

nice work...
This is calm, slightly mysterious, but beautiful in a haunting way. I like how you took the attack off the bells so they waft in. The glitchy sounds that keep the beat are good, although I might have moved them back slightly and given them a little more ambient reverb, so they fit back a little more with the bells, but maybe not. Because there's a lot of "tail" (fading reverb) of the bells at the end of your piece, you need to stretch the end-marker out a little farther, so the ending doesn't get cut off... the abrupt cut at the end sort of ruins the introspection there. But that's mixing/production details... the composition is very ethereal and beautiful, nice chord progressions and choice of instrumentation. Perhaps the river Styx is this beautiful.

Drakonis

thank drakonis!
thanks for commenting drak! I will move the end marker out a bit so it isn't so abrupt. i will also experiment with more ambiance. I did want the glitchy drum sounds to be a little bit of a contrast to the rest of the tone, however.

Thanks for listening and taking time to comment!

wow
This is way cool! Very chill. Perfect for my lazy Saturday morning drinking my tea and relaxing. I love the fuzzy percussive stuff in the background that keeps the piece moving underneath the gorgeous chime sounds. Really great job - congrats on moving away from loops! This is an excellent piece of ambient sounds. Thanks for sharing this - I look forward to hearing more from you!

I have a musical soul. Music moves me in deep ways and I love playing with sound. That is why, for writing music, I love techno and similar genres. I listen to just about everything, but when it comes down to stimulating my creative nature, the piano... [see more]
