I like this bass groove. Strange and spaced out fx gooing on at the vox... But I like it:)
lengold
Bass is about 5 different loops interwoven and stopped/started. Thanks for your support thoddi. Appreciated.

Len
Rocha Malhada
cool cadence, then when the guitars come in it really lends an off-beat to it.

.. it surely is. First I really liked the use of the reversed snares .. the pull of the relentless bass is indeed very captivating .. but for me the guitar solo is the dogs b.. .. and well worth the wait.
He's back! Unmistakeable Len .. and yet unique traits... it has to be Len.
Good fun it is, flexing your wings.
lengold
I was really pleased with the production on this. A lot less instruments/effects than I usually use. I think that that has made the sound a lot more crisp - especially the drums.
I always love reading your comments Alan - thanks for listening and your support.

That's what I'm talking about ! Welcome home Len .. class way to open the windows back up. Great track my friend .. killer vocals ... production is nailed down ... Welcome home man.
lengold
Jack, really pleased you liked this. I seem to have two ways of doing these now. They are either written on the piano and take a couple of weeks to rehearse etc or (like this one) just playing about in Logic and take just a couple of days.
Thanks for being there and your friendship and support.

Best wishes from Dia Marley. - cheek ! Dia Marley indeed. Glad your better.
lengold
After this was finished it actually reminded me of Captain Beefheart. I think subconsciously that's where the bass rhythms came from.
Appreciate the listen and comment Dai, thanks.

The end is abrupt but I'm thinking that was intentional, it works for me
Great rock solid energy in this song!

Great, great sound. That bass shook my skull! Great riff and amazing sound. The vocals are really nicely done, and those drums are really effective. What did you do to the snare? Great leadup to the guitar, which is superbly done. Very cool. Glad you're back to health. Be well, my friend. Nicely done. Peace.
lengold
The snare has reverse reverb on it. Was just playing around with effects and thought it sounded good. The Addictive Drum sound is also so crisp to start with.
Thanks for your good wishes and for the lovely comment - always appreciated.

That bass is really menacing, like a growing black hole, and has a nice contrast with the psychedelic solo.
Sparse is the new full.

I really really dig this song Len . Did you use that vocal thingy on this ? sounds great man the space the feeling ! Well done man listened to it Thrice times ....I do belive this is my favorite so far of yours well made tune ..The only Crit I have is the abrupt cut off at the end : ) Well produced and performed man : )
lengold
Really pleased you liked it Benny and big thanks for the lovely comment. Yeah, I used the vocal thingy, but it didn't sound bad without it.
I didn't know what to do about the ending, thought the abrupt ending might work ok, but obviously not.
Thanks again.
Cheers
Len
cormacbrenock
I may take a leaf out of your book with that voice thing.
Groovy guitar playing too.
This would good for an underscore to film maybe a Tarantino one .
Another thing I admire is that you can keep the guitar thing going without fluffs or jerky bits.
Well done downloaded and fvrtd.
lengold
God - wouldn't that just be fantastic - but very, very, unlikely - more chance of winning the lottery I think.
Really pleased you liked this and very grateful for the lovely comment. Thanks.
Cheers

WOW..just happened to stumble on this awesome track. The above comments about the Tarantino fit are SPOT ON. Great vocal character, guitar playing/style is a perfect fit; and the overall feel is just incredible. Also dig the lyrics - very simple, yet there's a feeling of depth...Thanks for that d'load option ;-)
lengold
glad that you stumbled here. Nice to meet you. Thank you very much for the encouraging comments - I love it when people download.

it is a unique and strong repeated bass pattern. the patterns grind into the mind. the voice is echoed with a granulator pattern behind it. it is a good experiment with patterns of inertia. it feels unstoppable. it is hoped she can let him go before it is too late. it is a repeated pattern for her. 0x0

Thanks for the comments.

Luv it. Great sound, luv the bass. I think it would cool if you put some underlying vocs. along with yours to give it a choiresque tone. Luv the guitar jam.
Again you know what your doing.

Daugrin
I like it. The bassline is relentless. Your love of nasal guitar tone is evident here as well. The joy that comes from this is the spontaneous feel and "ah hell lets make something" attitude. I heard lots of stuff, the half-step in the basic riff remindes me of surf music, maybe more like Lucifer Sam...
Daugrin
lengold
You are spot on with spontaneous - that's exactly what this was. Just listening to Lucifer Sam, do you know that unbelievably I don't think I've ever heard that before. Thanks so much for the listen and comment - very appreciated.
