Description:
Here we go again....

Lyrics:

MARCHING HOME IN A BLAZE OF GLORY?

Marching home in a blaze of glory
Along side your buddy in a body bag.
It’s always been the same old story
Killin’ for your God ‘gainst some foreign flag.

King or emperor, senator or president
Old men drawing their lines on their walls.
Drunk with power and fabricated evidence
They’ll take us with them on their final fall.

When I see him on the screen
I despair for what might have been.
When the wall came down that day
Had the hope we were on our way…to…..
Build a world devoid of pain
Diplomacy and a gentle rain that would
Wash away the evil and the pain
But now I see it was all in vain….so we can….

March on home…………………………………….

Tinker tailor, soldier sailor
All bein’ fooled again by some sleight of hand.
Perpetrated by a fear of failure
And what was once so old and grand……..

It’s not that I don’t see the lurking danger
But we gotta move down the right highway.
Looking sideways at every stranger
Blaming them for the price we pay….just to….

March on home…………………………………………….

killer lines &mdash 09/11/08 - 03:53:40 AM
the two first lines are killer lines (if I may say so. Sounds almost like some traditionnal soldier song, with a sing-along chorus.

Great song Dennis. I really identify with that 3rd stanza; I had much higher hopes then too.
How about a little snare ala British marching music? Too much? I think emphasizing the march would intensify the effect of this powerful piece.
