Description
This is a mix from January 2008. I had saved it as an almost finished piece and found it again last night and thought that I could finish it and upload it today.

It is supposed to be a cosmic orchestra (whatever one of them is) with the idea being that the sustained tones are the strings and the higher, flittery sounds that come in at an angle to the main theme, are the various almost random alien sounds of (dis)harmony or harmony, depending on where you come from in the cosmos, or even my take on 'Music of the Spheres'.

Anyway one thing plays against another so see what you think about this mix and please let me know any of your thoughts.

The Rhizomes of the Cosmos...
Cosmophony at its finest. Nicely done!

Hi Daniel.......
I see what you mean about Rhizomes. It is another angle on my thoughts for this piece and what it invokes, sometimes, in me....I did experiments as a child with chemicals in some substance and watched the chemicals 'grow' and make elemental Rhizomes. Your comment brought this back to me after so many years on the dusty shelves at the back of my mind.

I Googled Rhizomes and got sent off at a tangent about a French philosopher, so it was a great web trail to Google and follow what came up!!.

Take care.

Paul

i just love these works of yours! I wouldn't change a thing - it's doing just what you want it to do I think!

Hi Karen.......
The only change I would make would maybe be increasing the volume on some of the more treble or melodic parts. The mix as it stands is as good as I could get it last night but whol knows what more tweaking could do??!!

Thanks for your encouragment and kindness.

Take care.

perfect as is. really enjoyed this one, you have a real gift in this arena. perfect for a soundtrack, not a space movie though. i can see someone with like 3 jobs trying to support their family waking up and getting started for the day, tired but not giving up. beautiful.

Hi Michael.....
Your ideas and description seem to fit the mix very well.

Isn't it just amazing what a piece of music can invoke in any one person?? My music is whatever anyone wants to experience it as.

Thanks for listening and your comments.

Take care.

Nicely done
Although I would have liked to hear perhaps a few more colors come to the fore, what you have here now is very dreamy and calming. You have a nice long, shallow arc. Great piece.

Hi Kristyjo.....
Your ideas are excellent, and if I come across my details of how I put this together I will revisit and remix to see what comes out.

The arc description was very evocative to me and sends me off thinking ay another tangent.

Thanks for stopping by and leaving your ideas. I really appreciate you taking time to listen.

Take care.

Wow, this is trippy, in an intriguing way. I don't hear dis-harmony, but I hear chords forming, then melting into other unexpected chords, as one note of the chord fades and another one enters to complete it in a different way. This is really mind-bending in a fun way. It reminds me a bit of the computer-graphics (visual) equivalent of this, called "metaballs". They are viscous blobs that float and separate and re-form with other blobs... think of water free-floating in space. That's what my minds-eye saw :-)

ttfn,
Drakonis

Hi Mr D......
Thanks for your thought-provoking comments. I see what you see and it is an excellent description. I even think that I've seen an animation similar to the one you describe.

I had forgotten that I'd made the mix and only found it again a couple of days ago.

Thanks for your comments.

Take care.

Very nice sounds
I like the way they morph and move around, changing and floating. Your description (and everyone elses) fits with the music and goes to show how thought provoking the track is. Very good.

Hi Diviner.....
It's good to know that people are in agreement about one of my pieces. It seems to make my work and description the more worthwhile.

Thanks for stopping by.

Voices in the silence.
Life created in an instant. Happy accidents or fated journeys? I already have seen Drakonis' video with his "metaballs" that are constantly colliding but with the most gentle of mutual attraction and cooperation. They "must" touch. Your music "must" leave its impression. And we are better off for that. Thanks.

Hi Char......
I've just seen the video myself and I'm speechless. The work that Eduard had put into the animation really, really sets off my music.

Thank you for viewing the video and then leaving your kind thoughts. It makes everything worthwhile.

Take care.

Your ethereal music, now with the addition of Drak's visuals, is definitely enhanced.

Your music itself creates a very cosmic mood, but the video REALLY brings it to life.

Wonderful work, the two of you! I sincerely hope that you collaborate with Drak again! You could do a whole series of these cool videos.

Hi Cameron.......
You describe the music perfectly. It is a great thrill to receive your kind comments.

Eduard had the vision and I did very little.

Should Eduard have any other ideas for other videos I would be very happy to work with him.

Take care.

I've just had the operation (6th Feb) on my right hand and, apart from some on-going tingling and sensitivity (possible nerve damage) I can straighten my fingers out just fine. I'll never be a concert pianinst, but there again I never was. Ha ha. ... [see more]
