Lyrics
Move Along Blues

I’ve been thinking of easing my load
Getting rid of some stuff
Sometimes when you pull the plug
You know... the going gets rough.

Seems I got those move along blues
Where’s my hat, what’s the rush?
Some will see only what they will see
But the pull... finally came to the push.

Refrain:
Sarcasm passes for humor
Cynics pose as wise
Sometimes the high road
Will lead you down
I guess I just got those move along blues.

The watchmen of our tolerance
Condemn those out of line
What these jokers don’t understand
As they scoff... they’re running out of time.

Someone said, “walk a mile in my shoes”
And if you did then you might
Have a thought worth talking about
What I was... thinking that night.

Refrain:
Sarcasm passes for humor
Cynics pose as wise
Sometimes the high road
Will lead you down
I guess I just got those move along blues.

Thanks...
my friend Feter. I thought I'd just put a a final tune (though not really finished). Your suggestion on the harp is a good one. I'm already doing some practice takes.

cheers

Blues with hope
I'm glad you posted this. They said it was all about your sensitivity to a political difference, but that was a smokescreen. In actuality, some of these "tolerant" ones were ridiculing the author of salvation by inferring that believers are fools. Your farewell song expresses it very well. The line "the watchmen of our tolerance condemn those out of line" succinctly expresses what it's like to be a believer in this PC world. I like how you set the words in a laid back, musing style. You are truly an overcomer, as well as a gifted musician, and you have my deepest respect.

Nice work D:
Love you and love your music brother. I hope you'll revisit and post from time-to-time.

This is a nice "farewell blues." The music makes me smile, but the situation that spawned it makes me weep.

As for "the watchmen of our tolerance," the Psalmist said it best:

"Man who is honor [i.e., created in God's image], and knows it not, is like the beasts that perish."

You remain in my best thoughts and prayers friend...

Be well!

It's all good...
Thanks for stopping in Mike. Don't cry for me Argentina LOL... It was time for a change. And I think this a good one. We'll be in touch. If the Goodwillys gear up for another I'll ask Grampa Cur if he's available. He probably will be as he hardly does a d*** thing anymore ;)

rambling Jack...
Bill, that works for me... maybe too close to the truth ;)

Sorry so long in replying to your comment, but I did think this was my last tune here... But as Michael Corleone said, "Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in..." Not really, but I did find there were reasons for me to stay and keep posting music.

Bill, you're a treasure of a guy... not to mention a heck of a tile setter!

Oops, I almost forgot, and a great guitarist... ;)

"Sarcasm passes for humor"
yeah... I think that's the best line in the song. Sorry for the late reply.
You know Vic, I was feeling relaxed on this one. Something to do with the thought I was gone. As for the picking... much thanks.
