this cool work ...for some reason it sounds like
two bass guitars workin at the same time ...but
its cool funky powerful one ...good use of the panning
Kudos !!!!
VicDiesel
Your kind words always appreciated.
But I think you need better headphones. There are actually 4 basses playing here. One upright, two electric, and one synth.
Feter
man you are a genious !!!!!

Love the groove and the bass work.
The guitar sounds great but the sound , chords and scales that are
used give the track an older feel than the backing sounds .
The changes are very good .

Although it seems the guitar part feels a little far back from the drums and bass (and in a separate space with its extra room reverb), the overall feel is "groovy"... love the guitar work, and adore the bass-work. This feels like a sketch of something that should have more variation.

Yeah, that's what you get when you add parts to an already mixed track. Hard to balance the different spaces.

It does feel like a wailing guitar lead should swoop in over this ground, and I was kind of waiting for that. Great groove, though. Really full and chunky.

I love the car start thing!
Great bass parts...!
It's just a slow grooving machine....
Maybe a vocal...?
Vic Holman
some great variations in the basses. i like that.

I'm scratching my head trying to figure out what and who this song, this style, remind me of. But I realize that's the LAST thing that matters. The real question is: did yo know this would be such a fun romp? And: How'd you get the car in the studio, and work that ignition key just-so?
I thank Our Lady of Internal Combustion for enjoyable rides like this.
VicDiesel
Glad you enjoyed this.
The ignation was part of the original track. My input is strictly the basses, which I had great fun doing.

funkaliscious bass work Vic. Outstanding head bobbin, body swayin groove.

Reminds me of some stuff off Jeff Beck's album, "You Had it Coming."

That we haven't seen the last of versions of this. I enjoyed it. Thank you.
psexnyc

Love what you did on the bass parts man, The bass chords are so cool sounding. you've got a reel feel for playing the bass my friend.
This is a very cool track with a lot of potential for expansion in a lot of different ways. Not that it needs to mind you, it excellent as is.
Be well and be cool,

This would be a cool piece in a Tarantino movie. That mixture of basses is a really nice move, kept me engaged all the way thru - excellent chunky choon!
Jim

very neat idea to put the ignition in. I can see were a tune could make some bucks at a car show. I am going to send this tune to my friend Tom who is a antique hotrod and car collector ! I just saw his 32 ford at Fairfax car show in Calif. about a month ago.

Here is a pic of his 32 ford.
Of course that car does start :)

love the chugging guitar sound with those bass grooves. A real tight, rocking tune.
Thanks, this shall be a welcome addition to my new ipod!

I liked this one a lot. Great bass, guitar and guicar. The starter on the guicar is well added to the beat.
Nice beat, solid rhythm throughout.
You rival Tony Levin on this one.
VicDiesel
That's a big compliment. I think Tony Levin is the ultimate in tasteful, yet effective, bass lines.
davisamerica
you got this one driving my friend ... really nice bass lines. psexnyc sound bed is great. very cool mix
BeardedMonkeys
Awesome bass lines and groove it does!!! Can you say Funkadellic? I know you can!!! Love it! Love it! love it!
Youra
I love the pulsation, the bass is awesome. The car sound gives a frustrating but tensely background (when the bloody thing is going to start ?). Very good.
