Description:
I wrote and recorded the chord structure for this song a few years back and posted it here as 1:00am. Unfortunately I lost the project files for that one when my Powerbook bit the dust. Char wrote most of these lyrics for me. The vocals definitely need more work. I was able to lay this down pretty quick.
Lyrics:
Isla, girl, you were the love of my life. Now, you are gone. You're someon else's wife.
I've seen you in town and I've searched for your face.
You looked happy I sure hope tha's the case.
How can I feel this joy and pain?
How can I get in out of the rain?
If I could stand it, i'd stay
Please, look my way

Feter,

Nice job.
I'd say turn down the reverb on the guitar somewhat. It sounds like it's being played in a bathroom... On my system the vocals have some mid frequencies that are too prominent. I'd apply an EQ to that.
Take two?
duhdewd
I'm going to totally re-record the vocals with more presence anyway.

and sad, too. Are you doubling the voice for the chorus? I guess I'd just do that solo, keep that totally lonely feeling. I read that you're rerecording, so that would take care of the vocal presence. Simple, yet touching (meant in the best way) lyrics.
duhdewd
I will try the chorus solo with the new vocal pass. Thanks for the listen and compliment.

Hi - I really liked this song , it had a really nice uncluttered feel to it
I see from other comments that you're going to re-record. I think you'vr got the basis of a really good song here - I'd like to hear how this turns out
Can I make a suggestion (which of course you are free to laugh at and discard :-)) but I though some subtle slide guitar would work well in the background
Nice work
Cheers

I love slide, but I'm a very rudimentary player. I'll give it a shot.

The one thing I keep saying about your music is the strong emotion that it invokes. I must sound like a broken record, but I really enjoy the vocal and instrumental and the overall emotion of this song. Very nice.

I forgot to give props to Char for the lyrics, nice work!

... I have always been a sucker for anything acoustic ... I agree with some earlier comments that the vocals could be pushed a little up front more .... and naughty naughty Char for not sharing this with me
Char
I know I left a comment, a long while ago. Sweet guitar and emotive singing. Thanks.
Char
When you get a chance, please do a new version with the extra lyrics, if you like them. Such a nice tune. It deserves more.
