Description
Yup... I did it again. Every time, I swear it'll be the last. For some reason, this song will not go away.
This tune has been in the works for what seems like forever. It's basically a song where the speaker is reasoning out the connection they have to a fictitious character beginning with the realization that they are in fact relating to a fictitious character and culminating in the finding of self in someone who is not even real- the speaker feels a kinship with the character and realizes that they (like the character) are the projection of an image. He finds the answer, but still feels momentary regret at losing that one beautiful thing he had, even if it was only fictitious.

Lyrics
I'm writing love songs to a character
spilling my heart in these letters
and who even knows who we really are?
Maybe when I sing this song to you
I'm really singing to myself
telling myself that everything's all right
This universe, this crazy world
tends to unfold as it should
when I look at you, I see you understand
When I saw those tears in your brown eyes
I knew I had tears in mine when I heard you ask
why do I lose the people I care about?
In so many ways lost in you
I accidentally found myself
I never even realized I was looking
I'm writing love songs to a character
spilling my heart in these letters
and now I finally know who we really are.
spilling my heart in these letters
and who even knows who we really are?
Maybe when I sing this song to you
I'm really singing to myself
telling myself that everything's all right
This universe, this crazy world
tends to unfold as it should
when I look at you, I see you understand
When I saw those tears in your brown eyes
I knew I had tears in mine when I heard you ask
why do I lose the people I care about?
In so many ways lost in you
I accidentally found myself
I never even realized I was looking
I'm writing love songs to a character
spilling my heart in these letters
and now I finally know who we really are.
